Webb Winn spent Monday and Tuesday at Lindsey.

 

Miss Bertha Winn returned to Two Rivers on Saturday.

 

Geo. Beeckler was over from Sidney last Saturday.

 

P. J. Herman of Chili transacted business here Monday.

 

Miss Bertha Goebel was at Neillsville Tuesday.

 

Miss Mary Schune visited Neillsville relatives early this week.

 

A son was born to Mr. and Mrs. Herman Garbisch last Sunday.

 

Chas. Neinas transacted business at Eau Claire on Wednesday.

 

Mrs. John Wright is home from her Marshfield visit.

 

Mrs. Henry Lawson entertained the Circle and their families Wednesday.

 

C. D. Stockwell of Spooner shook hands with town friends here Tuesday noon.

 

Tim King is peeling off the scarlet fever and convalescing nicely.

 

Girl wanted to work in hotel, good wages; inquire of Herman Wegner, at Granton

 

Mrs. Gottlieb Pischer and Mrs. Anna Ketel spent Monday at Marshfield.

 

Mr. and Mrs. Henry Braatz and baby Leonard were guest at Grandpa Kurzrok’s last Friday.

 

Miss Hazel Brooks who teaches in the Marshfield City Schools was home over Sunday.

 

Miss Bessie Beeckler after a weeks vacation spent at home, returned to her duties at Stanley on Saturday.

Mrs. Bush Davis of Loyal was reported to be alarmingly ill early this week.

 

Mrs. Clara Fricke and her friend Miss Varney of Greenwood were in town Monday afternoon.

 

Miss Vivian Ure spent the first of the week here with Edna Kemmeter.

 

Mrs. Owen of Marshfield visited her daughter Mrs. Walter Coil here last week.

 

The Leland Davis and Chas Chapel families of Marshfield spent Sunday and Monday here at Geo Hart’s.

 

Willis Enhelder sold his pure bred stallion "Ambassadeur" to Herman Wegner last Friday.

 

Mrs. Bruno Dudei and little children came home on Tuesday from a several days visit with friends at Neillsville.

 

John Galbreath will have an auction sale on his farm in the Town of Washburn next Friday, April 22nd at 1 o’clock p.m.; see the Auction Bills

 

Lloyd E. Davis formerly principal of our schools came up from Madison last week and spent several days among his friends in this vicinity.

 

Mrs. and Mrs. Chas Neinas and daughter Lydia spent Easter Sunday at August Kampin’s near Chili.

 

Pete Paulson of Marshfield was kept busy several days late last week tuning up various automobiles for the season’s work.

 

Miss Theresa Murach of Fond du Lac after a several days visit to her brother John Seaman of Sherwood left for home on Tuesday.

 

John Fuller has been quite ill and under the doctor’s care for the past four weeks, suffering with kidney trouble.

 

Leland Davis has resigned his position with Lang & Scharmann at Marshfield and is moving back to accept a clerkship with the Knorr-Rausch Hardware Co. here.  He will begin work Monday and will live in the Barker house.

 

Hale Davis left for Minneapolis Monday morning where he has secured a position with a lumber company.  His family will remain here for the present, having moved into the Burdick house.

 

A number of Jack Dost’s gentlemen friends tendered him a surprise card party at the Beaver Hall Tues. eve.

 

Miss Anna Handt and her brother Paul left for Minneapolis again on Tuesday.  Paul will go from there to Genoa Junction where he has employment.

 

Mr. and Mrs. Ernest Lee are rejoicing over a little son which arrived at their home Monday morning.

 

Ross Paulson lost a valuable horse last Sunday morning. The horse got out of the pasture and wandered along the railroad track in a westerly direction until it was run down by the early morning limited and instantly killed near the crossing west of here.

 

Dr. Ross took Mrs. Frachette who lives in the Town of Sherwood to the Marshfield hospital Sunday morning where she underwent an operation for a rupture of a serious nature the same day.  She is reported as doing nicely.

 

Ed Ackerman was kept on the move the first few days of the week for it was he who moved W. D. Rose’s good down from the farm and into his new town home and he it was who moved his son-in-law Herman Roehl’s goods from town here out to the Jerry Daughhetee farm where Herman has employment for the summer at least.

Dr. Schwarz’s team took fright in passing an automobile last Mon. afternoon and becoming unmanageable they  ran away.  In an attempt to turn the corner at Witte’s store the two horses fell, throwing the buggy with the doctor against Geo. Beaver’s platform.  The rig was considerably damaged, but luckily neither the horses nor Dr. Schwarz received any injuries whatever.

 

Mr. and Mrs. Marg of Marshfield came over Wednesday to attend the funeral of their son-in-law, Ernest Gerzemehle, on Thursday.

 

Leonard Cole has recovered from the measles and has gone to Berlin to accept a paying position which promises to cover a period of two months.

 

Mrs. Leroy Osgood of Lentz, Oregon, died Tuesday. This fact being made known to relatives here by telegram, Wednesday.

 

Mrs. Wm. Klopf of Neillsville died suddenly Wednesday afternoon about four o’clock, her death resulting from consumption, from which dread malady she has been a patient sufferer many years.

 

John Bladl last week traded 30 acres of land in Town of Lynn for the Warren Page store building here, formerly occupied by Mr. Page as a hardware store.  John will move his harness shop into it in the near future, his present quarters being too crowded for his every growing business.

 

In last week’s issue we stated that Wella Beecher has bought the York Center Cheese factory of Heibel & Gullick.  We are requested to make a correction in regard to this statement inasmuch as he had purchased only Mr. Gullick’s interest in the same; Mr. Heibel still retaining his post as manager and salesman.

 

Miss Eberhardt last Saturday received word from her home that Mrs. Oscar Wright, an aunt of hers had died on Friday as the result of a severe accident with which she met April 4th.

 

On Tuesday at noon, April 18th, 1911, Mrs. Augusta Riedel’s home presented the scene of a wedding dinner; this being in honor of Mr. Emil Hubing and Miss Elsie Riedel.
