Frank Knick, a lumber dealer of Tomah who has been scaling lumber for Walter Moldenhauer for several days, returned to Tomah on Thursday.

 

Traveling freight auditor of the C.M. & St. P. Railway made our agent, R.R. Washburn, a pleasant call Friday.

 

Arthur Garbush returned from Chicago Thursday where he had been successfully operated on.

 

On Saturday, Feb. 8th, a surprise party was planned for Mrs. John Breseman and Ray Ure, whose birthdays both fell on the same day.  One half of the party went to Mrs. John Breseman’s and the other half went to Ray Ure’s residence where both parties were completely surprised.  They all went to the town hall alter and spent the evening dancing.  Ed and Walter Breseman furnished the music with violin and guitar.  At 12 o’clock a most bounteous luncheon was served to about 75 people, all going home well satisfied that they had spent a very pleasant evening, and wishing the ones whose birthdays were the cause of the good time, many happy returns of the day.

 

Peter Schmitz had the misfortune to lose a valuable horse and cow several weeks ago.

 

Delos Theil of Nasonville spent Saturday with his cousin Elmer Becker.

 

Mrs. J. Wiertz spent Saturday and Sunday at Neillsville.

 

R. Gotter and family spent Sunday with their paretns.

 

Henry Grassman of Marshfield and sister Elsie of Granton spent Sunday at home.

 

The Misses Bertha, Elda and Ardena Helm visited their cousins the Misses Steinbach, Sunday.

 

Mrs. Herman Voigt of East Lynn visited friends in this vicinity last week.

 

O.W. Becker and family spent Sunday with friends in Nasonville.

 

Miss Elda helm returned home last week from Chas. Brooks’ where she had been assisting Mrs. Brooks with her household duties.

 

Orville Altenburg returned home Monday after a four weeks stay at his grandparents.

 

Miss Elda Helm did shopping at Neillsville Thursday.

 

Mrs. C.W. Chubb Sr. suffered an attack of La Grippe.

 

Ferd Helm returned from Milwaukee the fore part of the week.

 

Mr. A. Viergutz hauled logs to Granton Friday to have same sawed up into lumber.

 

J. West of Ebbe canvassed through Lynn several days last week.

 

Miss Elsie Neitzel and Leo Grassman came over from Neillsville and spent Sunday at home.

 

Emil Lindow and family of East Lynn came out and took in the birthday party.

 

The News is certainly improving in correspondence for the town of Lynn there should be a North and West to make the roll complete, but please don’t step over the boundary line.
