Ruda, Mr. & Mrs. John (Gold - 10 NOV 1958)

Mr. and Mrs. John Ruda of Thorp (Clark Co.), Wis., were feted to a golden celebration in honor of their 50^th wedding anniversary on Sat., Nov. 8^th, 1958.  The couple was married on Nov. 10, 1908 at Thorp, Wis.  The honored couple are parents of 5 children, Walter, Mrs. Walter (Rose) Syzmoniak of Thorp; Mrs. Morris (Irene) Nelson of Round Lake, Ill.; Edward of Bloomer and Mrs. Edmund (Delores) Fryza of Lublin, also 16 grandchildren and 2 great-grandchildren.

The celebration began at 2:00 p.m. with a ceremony, and a special blessing at St. Mary’s Catholic Church at Lublin, Wis., performed by Rev. Leon Dobrzanski.  A special gold cane and rosary were presented to the couple with appropriate sermon and wishes.  They were preceded into church by their two oldest children, Walter and Mrs. Rose Syzmoniak.

After the ceremony, a delicious supper was served at 4 p.m. to 300 guests at Marion Sciezor’s Hall.  The evening was enjoyed by dancing to the music of the Bloomer Dutchmen’s Orchestra.

The hall was beautifully decorated in gold and orchid, to suit the occasion.

Beautiful flowers and a four tier wedding cake trimmed in gold, adorned the tables.

The bride of 50 years was attired in a gold nylon lace over stain dress made by Mrs. Steve Kudingo of Thorp.  She wore a yellow rose corsage with accessories.  The groom wore a yellow rose boutonniere, as did the sons and sons-in-law.  The daughters and daughters-in-law wore yellow carnation corsages, also.

Out of town guests attending the celebration were: Mr. and Mrs. Felix Wenski, Mr. and Mrs. Mike Wenski, Miss Darlene Lawniczak, Mr. and Mrs. Michael Dubrowsky, and Mrs. Morris Nelson, Gail and Allen Nelson, all of Chicago, Ill., Mrs. Walter Goheski, Mrs. Leonard Ferski Jr., and daughter Betty, and Mr. Leonard Ferski Sr., of Muskegon, Mich. Mr. and Mrs. Ernest Wenski of Krakow, Wis., Mr. Paul Wenski and Miss Edna Wenski of Oconto Falls, Mr. and Mrs. Albert Mac Farlane and children, Mrs. alma Mac Farlane, Mr. and Mrs. Edward Ruda and Mr. Joe Ruff of Bloomer, Mr. and Mrs. Joe Jasek of Stone Lake, Wis., Mr. and Mrs. Ray Kallach of Holcombe.
