Washburn (13 June 1963)

 

The Washburn Homemakers club will hold its annual family picnic at the Spiegel cabin and picnic grounds Sunday, June 30.  Members please note the change of date and place as the picnic was first planned for June 16.

 

The Cannonville Ladies Aid will meet at the church Wednesday, June 19, at 1:30 p.m.  A lunch will be served following the meeting.

 

Mrs. Eugene Simmons arrived home Friday after spending 10 days with her parents, Mr. and Mrs. Leo Lukowski, in Omaha, Nebr.  She also attended the high school graduation of her brother.

 

Mrs. Don Stewart, daughters, Jovey and Jana and son Jeffrey, of Verona spent from Thursday until Tuesday with her parents, Mr. and Mrs. Ralph Short.

 

Mr. and Mrs. Clarence Rutherford, Black River Falls, Mr., and Mrs. Henry Knutson and son, Don, Milwaukee, Mr. and Mrs. Leonard Schultz and family, Oshkosh, Mr. and Mrs. Dale Tyler, Marshfield, and Paul Schultz were Saturday supper guests at the Mrs. Art Odell home.

 

Mr. and Mrs. Roger Short and family of West Allis spent the weekend with his mother, Mrs. Frank Short.  Mr. and Mrs. Kenneth Short and family also were Sunday dinner and supper guests there.

 

Mr. and Mrs. Jesse Schultz, Beloit, attended the funeral of Mrs. R. R. Rath at Granton last week Wednesday.  They were accompanied home Wednesday evening by her sister, Mrs. Elmer Kapfer, who visited at the Schultz home with her son, Leon Kapfer, and his family in Janesville, until the fore part of the week.

 

Mr. and Mrs. Bruce Spiegel had their infant daughter, Marilyn Rose, christened at St. Mary’s Catholic Church Sunday.  Mr. and Mrs. John Reinart were sponsors.  Mr. and Mrs. Reinart and family were dinner guests at the Spiegel home in honor of the occasion.

 

Mrs. Oliver Williams and family, Mrs. Christ Feutz, Mr. and Mrs. Darrel Hohenstein and Mr. and Mrs. Donald Lindow attended the Sherwood Sunday school picnic at Sherwood Lake Saturday.

 

Eugene Kissling who has been employed in Michigan; arrived home Saturday to attend the silver wedding party of his parents, Mr. and Mrs. Ted Kissling; and to make an extended visit at home.

 

Mr. and Mrs. Irving Stevens were callers at the Jack Urban home Sunday afternoon.

 

Mrs. Art Odell was a Sunday dinner guest at the Sanford Dehart home.

 

Mr. and Mrs. Lynn Feutz and son, Ronald, and a boy friend and neighbors, another principal friend and wife, all of Wisconsin Rapids, called at the Christ Feutz home Monday morning. They were on their way to Canada for a week of fishing.

 

Duane Kissling and lady friend of Minneapolis spent the weekend with his parents, Mr. and Mrs. Ted Kissling.


Mr. and Mrs. John Reinart and family visited at the Claude Kyle home Sunday evening.

 

Mr. and Mrs. Irving Stevens were callers at the Ralph Short home Sunday evening.

 

Mrs. Art Williams spent Sunday afternoon and was a supper guest at the Christ Feutz home.

 

Mr. and Mrs. Ralph Short and Mrs. Don Stewart and family called at the Art Short home Sunday afternoon.

 

Mrs. Ed Short spent the weekend at the Paul Kuhn and George Allbaugh homes.
