Hans, Alice (10 JAN 1959)

The marriage of Alice Hans to Norbert Milewski of Palatine solemnized at 2 p.m. Jan. 10, 1959 in St. Theresa Chapel, Palatine, with Father R.J. Sullivan officiating at the nuptials.  Mrs. John Mullen was the soloist and organist.

The bride is the daughter of Mrs. Hattie W. Hans of 834 Prairie Ave., and the late Albert J. Hans.  She was given in marriage by her uncle, Ralph Edler, who escorted her to the altar which was banked with bouquets of white mums and gladioli.  The bridegroom is the son of Mr. and Mrs. Mike Milewski of Thorp (Clark Co.), Wis.

The bride’s waltz length gown of silk organza with rosepoint lace was fashioned with a bouffant skirt.  A headpiece of pearls and rhinestones held her fingertip veil in place, and she carried a bouquet of gardenias and stephanotis.  Her jewelry was a pearl necklace and earrings.

Attending as matron of honor, Shirley Kovalik wore a ballerina length pink dress of silver embossed net over taffeta with chiffon streamers down the back.  She had a pink feather hat and carried a bouquet of pink and white carnations.  Marilyn Cemer, as brides matron, was attired the same as Mrs. Kovalik, only in blue, and she carried blue and white carnations.

Miss Joan Milewski, sister of the groom, served as junior bridesmaid.  She was dressed in blue flowered net over taffeta and had a headband of flowers and rhinestones.  The flower girl, Rita Strzok, niece of the groom, wore a pink waltz length dress of net and taffeta, and also had a headpiece of flowers and rhinestones.

Leonard Milewski was his brother’s best man, and ushering were Edward Neiman and Ed Strzok.

Mrs. Hans chose a sheath dress of blue over Kelly green brocaded satin, peacock blue feathered hat, and white orchid corsage.  The groom’s mother was attired in a navy blue embossed faille dress, navy blue hat, and also a white orchid corsage.

The reception was held at the VGW Hall in Bensenville, and following a honeymoon at Ceramis Island View Resort, Burlington, Wis., the young couple is at home at 834 Prairie Ave.

The new Mrs. Milewski was graduated from Maine Township High School and attended Gregg Business College.  She is employed by the Travelers Indemnity Co. in Chicago.

Mr. Milewski attended Thorp High School and is employed by Arcole Midwest.
