Glen Johnson says it’s tough to be laid up with a broken collarbone in sugar time, but if he can’t carry sap his appetite for sugar is just as good.

 

Mr. Alfred Rhoda and bride of East Troy visited at Frank Jahr’s.

 

Miss Florence Converse and Clarence Salisbury ate Easter dinner at Leo Chapel’s Sunday.

 

Elsie Johnson and Delma Nickel came over from Neillsville for Easter at home.

 

Fernando Johnson is the latest victim of the grippe.

 

Mr. H.R. Erwin of Milwaukee was a guest at Fisk Lee’s several days last week.  He returned home Tuesday.  Miss Ruth Lee accompanied him to Kilbourn for a visit.

 

Guenther Lee is working for F. Lee this summer.

 

Little Winifred Smith was quite ill a few days last week.

 

Dr. Rath was called to attend little Hazel Chapel.  She has pneumonia.

 

Miss Pearl Brooks came home from Stevens Point where she is attending the Normal, and returned Monday night with her father who teaches near there.

 

Miss Frances Smith spent Monday afternoon with Cleo Daughhetee.

 

Quite a number from here attended the band concert and dance at Granton Monday night.

 

Those business men who suffered defeat in a spelling contest with 8th grade pupils, must have been taking lessons from Editor Baer’s new linotype machine.  However, readers of the News must judge as we’ve been told the judge, a Dutchman, by what he means and not what he says.
