Hale Davis came home Saturday and remained until Tuesday.

 

The Circle was entertained by Mrs. Ross Paulson on Wednesday.

 

Ernest Wittke, who bought the Ben Thomas place in Washburn, is in possession of same now.

 

Robert Garbisch is still confined to his bed with a disease that seems to baffle the doctors.

 

Mrs. Frank Potter went to Sheboygan last Saturday on an extended visit with relatives.

 

Herman Wegner is at present extensively remodeling the upper story of his hotel.

 

Mike Dorst, Fred Bartz and Chas. Dietrich were among those who attended the cheese meeting at Marshfield last Saturday.

 

Will Haertl of Lindsey transacted business here last Saturday.

 

Carrier L.G. Morris is enjoying a week’s vacation and entertaining a cousin from Oconomowoc this week.

 

Floyd Winn is substituting for carrier Morris on route 3 this week.

 

Miss Myrtle Knorr returned o Madison and her studies there on Tuesday.

 

Ralph Scholtz came home from Glidden on Wednesday.

 

Pete Paulson and his brother-in-law Gene Anderson were here on business Wednesday.

 

Miss Lillie Garbush came home Wednesday after an extended absence at Chicago and Plymouth.

 

B. Tykac spent Wednesday evening with his family at Columbia.

 

Ruth Lee came home Wednesday from a week’s visit at Kilbourn, Milwaukee and Palmyra.

 

Mr. and Mrs. Geo. Budge of St. Paul are guests at the W.S. Davis home since yesterday.

 

Louis Davis and Miss Emma Kimball visited Neillsville friends on Wednesday.

 

Mrs. F.J. Baer was engaged with abstract work at the county seat on Wednesday.

 

Fred Wright bought a registered Holstein heifer of Imig Bros. of Neillsville this week.

 

Mrs. Geo. Frei entertained a large company of ladies last week Wednesday at a rag bee which was a very enjoyable affair for all present.

 

Mrs. Herman Gross and children came out from Neillsville last Friday and remained until Wednesday evening visiting her parents, Mr. and Mrs. Oscar Anding in the town of Lynn.

 

Henry Sternitzky went to Neillsville Wednesday evening to be in attendance at the meeting of the directors of the Lynn Mutual Fire Insurance Co.

 

Miss Martha Schwertenberg went to Chili Tuesday where she has employment.

 

Will Kuehn of Red Cloud, Neb. is visiting A.J. and Jap Spry, John Patno, James Scoles and many other old friends here this week.

 

Mrs. Fred hohensteina nd son Arthur were up from Alma Center Teusday visiting at the A.J. Knorr home.

 

Mrs. Chas. Neinas and sister Miss Elizabeth Guk spent Tuesday at Marshfield.

 

The Mesdames E.R. Wonser and W.S. Davis, with Miss Gladys Wage were Neillsville visitors on Tuesday.

 

Mr. and Mrs. Ernest Garbisch are visiting St. Paul, Minneapolis and Staples, Minn. relatives since Wednesday.

 

Fred Heibel went home Tuesday from the Marshfield hospital after another 5 days of treatment for the injury he received through a fall some weeks since.  He is far from well, but hopes to come out okay eventually.

 

Fern Lawrence of Plymouth, after a couple of weeks visit at Chas. Reed’s and other relatives in York, and the W.D. Rose home here, returned to Plymouth yesterday.

 

The Shortville Dramatic Club presenting "Borderland" here last Saturday night, were well repaid for their efforts to please by their amateur work in dramatic art.  All the members of this company were fairly well known to the majority of the audience and this fact counted much in the evening’s pleasure.  After the play the band boys gave a dance which was well patronized and in consequence, very successful.

 

Mrs. Emery Bruley of Neillsville can please you in millinery.  She has a better stock than usual this season and has a trimmer who can speak both English and German.  You will do well to see her styles and get her prices before buying.  She can suit all tastes and her prices are surely right this season.  (advertisement)

 

Mrs. Mandel and three children were here from Marshfield and spent the first half of the week ehre at the Chas. Haltaufderheide home.

 

Ferdinand and Alvin Reichert, early this week purchased the D. Barker house and lot and Ferd expects to move the building he recently bought of G.E. Amidon, to a position on the west side of the lot, the future location of his jewelry store.
