Sauerkraut City (15 June 1911)

There was quite a gathering at Wm. Reisner’s last Wednesday night, the occasion being a surprise on John Hefty and Annie Faber and it turned out to be a kitchen shower. The evening was spent in dancing and card playing, followed by an elegant supper at 12 o’clock and a few hours after supper the party adjourned till the night the cow bells were used.

Chas Neinas and daughter Lydia were out here Tuesday trying to pull some wild mustard which he has his place seeded down with.  His son Henry who was staying at E. Neinas’ joined in to help him and about half past nine  they got pretty hungry and decided to have their lunch which was prepared for them and after the lunch, Henry made a motion that they put off pulling mustard till some cooler day. They had a space of three rods, nineteen feet and four inches square pulled already.  If you have time you can figure out how long it will take yet

Sir stork was around here last Friday morning and presented Mr. and Mrs. Peter Faber with a bouncing baby girl.

Mrs. Bertha Gehrke and Ferd Baumann of Marshfield were out here last Sunday.
