Gerhardt, Calvin W. (1 DEC 1930 - 5 DEC 2011)

 

Calvin W. Gerhardt, 81, of Neillsville, died on Monday, Dec. 5, 2011, at the Neillsville Care and Rehabilitation Center.

Calvin was born on Dec. 1, 1930, the son of Willard and Martha (Wilding) Gerhardt. He attended Reed School and graduated from Neillsville High School in 1949. 

On June 3, 1950, he was united in marriage to Gladys Kalsow and together they purchased the family farm and continued to farm there until their retirement.

Calvin was a member of the United Methodist Church in Neillsville.

He is survived by his wife, Gladys, of Neillsville; a daughter, Judith (David) LaFond of La Crosse; a son, Kenneth (Janet) Gerhardt of Neillsville; five grandchildren, Philip, Melissa, Krystal, Kimberly and Benjamin. He is further survived by a sister-in-law, LaVerne Gerhardt of Madison.

Calvin was preceded in death by his parent; three brothers, Clyde, Glenn and Dale; and a sister, Leone Vine.

Funeral services for Calvin will be held at 11 a.m. Thursday, Dec. 8, 2011, at the Gesche Funeral Home in Neillsville. 

Pastor Douglas Bjerke will officiate. 

Visitation will be from 10 a.m. to 11 a.m. Thursday morning prior to the service at the Gesche Funeral Home. Interment will be in the Neillsville City Cemetery.
