Tillman, Hanna (30 SEPT 1880-10 SEPT 1957)

 

Mrs. Hanna Tillman 76, died at her home in Owen, September 10. She had been in ill health for the past one and one-half years.

 

Funeral services were held at the Hoeper Kraut Funeral Home in Owen at 1:30 p.m. Thursday and burial was iun the Riverside Cemetery, Withee. The Rev. Ralph Claybough officiated.

 

Pallbearers were Henry Cass, William Nirva, Jack Niemi, Frank Schwanke, James Hallowell, and Frank Kline.

 

Flower girls were Mrs. William Nirvi, Mrs. Jack Niemi, Mrs. James Hollowell, Mrs. Alfred Anderson, Mrs. Margaret Loertscher, and Ina Haldo. Mrs. Marshall of Thorp was soloist and Mrs. Kallio was organist.

 

Mrs. Tillman, nee Hanna Granstrom was born in Nyborg, Sweden, September 30, 1880. She was married in Sweden in 1898 to Gust Pickola. In 1904 they came to America and settled in Ely, Minnesota. In 1914 they moved to a farm in the town of Beaver and lived there until they moved to Owen in February 1949. Mr. Piekola died in June of that year.

 

In June 1953, she was married to Peter Tillman.

 

She is survived by her husband; two daughters, Mrs. Adolph (Jennie) Brecker, Owen, and Mrs. William (Clara) Davel, Loyal; and one son, Ted Pickola of Loyal, who lives on the home farm.

 

One stepson, Paul Tillman, El Monte, California; one stepdaughter, Mrs. Russell (Myrtle) Rowley, Orr, Minnesota; one grandson, Owem Brecker of Key West, Fla.

 

Two brothers, Fred Granstrom of Seattle, Wash., and Hjalmer Granstrom of Sweden, also survive.

 

Besides her first husband two children preceded her in death.

 

Attending the funeral from away were Mrs. Myrtle Rowley, Orr,MInn.; Mrs. Victor Frankie, Herbster; Carl Frankie, Mrs. Mary Maki, and William Frankie, Iron River.
