Dorn, Archie (20 Jan 1880- 10 Sept 1957)


Archie Dorn, 77, died in St. Joseph’s Hospital, Marshfield, at 9:15 a.m. September 10, of old age complications.


He was born in Outagamie Co. January 20. 1880. He came to Clark County with his parents when a child and lived on a farm in Loyal township.


In 1905 he went to Spokane, Wash., where he worked for a rail road company. Oct. 7. 1906, he was married to Mamie Rondorf. Soon after their marriage the couple moved here to a farm in the townships of Loyal and York. He served eight years as chairman of the town board of Loyal and also served as a clerk of his school district.


He and his wife retired from farming in 1945 and since last November had been in Abbotsford.


Funeral services were held in the York Center Methodist Church at 2 p.m. Thursday with burial in the York Center Cemetery. The Rev. Wendell Bennetts officiated at the services.


Pallbearers were Loren Hales, Herbert Free, Ray Mortimer, Carl Sischo and Ed Voight. The hymns, "In The Garden" and "The Sweet Bye and Bye: were sung by Nyle Benedict. Mrs. Mildred Rowe was organist.


Attending the services from away were Mr. and Mrs. Dale Dorn, New Lisbon; Mr. and Mrs. Lowell Dorn and family, Abbotsford; Mr. and Mrs. Ansel Peterson and family, Marshfield; Mr. and Mrs. R. J. Rondorf, Mound, Minn.; Mr. and Mrs. Henry Trinkes, LaCrosse, Mr. and Mrs. Alfred Rondorf, Mr. and Mrs. Joe Rondorf, and Mr. and Mrs. Ewald Schwartz, Gteenwood; Mr. and Mrs. William Rondorf, Mrs. Nora Buffington, and Mr. and Mrs. John Weiss, Marshfield; Mr. and Mrs. Walter Hopperdietzel, Abbotsford; Mr. and Mrs. Albert Holt and Mr. and Mrs. Kenneth Olson, Neillsville.


He is survived by his widow, two sons, Dale of New Lisbon, and Lowell of Abbotsford; one daughter, Mrs. Ensel (Lucille) Peterson, Marshfield; one sister, Mrs. William White, Spokane, Wash.; two brothers Ray and Al Dorn of Seattle Wash.; and five grandchildren. One sister preceded him in death.
