Dayton, Donna Marie (Marriage - 26 October 1963)

Donna Marie Dayton, daughter of Mrs. Winnifred Dayton of Neillsville, became the bride of Carl Albert Zank of Rt. 3, Neillsville, at a ceremony performed Saturday afternoon in St. John’s Evangelical Lutheran Church here by the Rev. Norman Lindloff.

The bride was given in marriage by her oldest brother, Earl Dayton of Neillsville. She chose for her wedding a floor-length gown of imported Chantilly lace and silk organza. The full hoop bouffant skirt was of two tiers of silk organza over bridal taffeta, trimmed with scallops of gallone lace, accented by handmade roses of silk organza.  Her headpiece was a silk organza rose, adorned with pearlized peps and roses which matched those on the gown, and were made of imported silk illusion.  She carried a bouquet of red roses and white carnations, with rosebud streamers and lilies of the valley.

Her maid of honor was Miss Carol Zank of Milwaukee, and her sister, Miss Patricia Dayton of Neillsville, was her bridesmaid.  They wore ballerina-length gowns of royal blue Sata sheer over taffeta. Their headpieces were of royal blue crystallite braid with matching face veil. They carried bouquets of plain pink roses and white gardenias.

The groom, son of Mr. and Mrs. Albert Zank of Rt. 3, Neillsville was attended by the bride’s brother, Robert Dayton, as best man, Harold Zank was his groomsman, and Donald Dayton and Verlyn Shaw were ushers.

A reception followed the ceremony in the American Legion Hall at 4 p.m. and a wedding dance was held in the evening at the Silver Dome.

The bride is a 1958 graduate of Granton High School and has been employed as a secretary in Neillsville.  The groom is employed at the Nelson Muffler Corporation plant in Neillsville.

They are making their home at 118 Oak Street, in Neillsville.

Guests from out-of-town attending the wedding were from: Blair, Milwaukee, Granton, Wilton, Medford, Sparta, Tomah and Chippewa Falls.
