Carl Frederick Pankow was born to Mr. and Mrs. Carl Pankow Sr., June 7, 1885, in Illinois.  He came to this community in 1912 from Rock Island, Ill., settling on a farm in the Town of Hixon, where he farmed until his retirement in 1946.  On May 27, 1945 he was united in marriage to Mary Bingham at Medford.  Upon their retirement the couple has since resided in the Town of Maplehurst, Taylor Co.

The couple had no children but his passing is mourned by his wife, two nieces, Mrs. Arlie (Martha) Melbinger, North Riverside, Ill., and Mrs. Joe (Helen) Cavaleri, Waukesha, Wis., and a nephew, Louis Stark, Allenton, Wis.
