Noble Downer is visiting at Melrose since last Saturday.

 

Mrs. Paul Roder spent Tuesday with relatives at Neillsville.

 

Mrs. Ed Soles spent Tuesday with Ed at the Marshfield hospital.

 

Mrs. Homer Ding entertained the Circle on Wednesday.

 

Fred and Grace Bartz went to Brillion Wednesday to visit relatives and attend the wedding of one.

 

The Misses Jennie Hart and Mabel Trombauer are canvassing in Loyal since Tuesday.

 

Mrs. Frank Rogers visited her parents at Neillsville the first part of the week.

 

Baby Wilbur Fraser was very sick last week through suffering witht eh measles and teething.

 

James Johnson came home from Stevens Point Monday, where he had been in attendance at the Seventh Day Adventist convention.

 

Mrs. E.R. Wonser will entertain the O.E.S. Birthday Club tomorrow, Saturday afternoon.  All visiting O.E.S. are welcome.

 

Mrs. Rice Davis is home from the Madison Sanitarium since Wednesday and apparently quite improved in health.

 

Clyde Shaw came down from St. Paul Saturday to spend some time engaged in looking after his business interests here.

 

Mrs. Hattie Beeckler is home from her visit at Seymour since Saturday.

 

Mrs. Floyd Winn has a class of ten little girls whom she is instructing be-weekly in the art of sewing since Tuesday.

 

Mr. and Mrs. Ferd Helm, accompanied by her father Mr. Ernest Sternitzky, went to Forest Junction Wednesday to attend the weeding of their son.

 

Miss Nellie Dorst is visiting relatives at Withee since Wednesday.

 

Mrs. Frieda Williams spent Wednesday with friends at Neillsville.

 

Mrs. M.F. Beaulieau went home to Osseo Wednesday.

 

Mrs. Eugene Crandall and son Theodore visited relatives at Neillsville Wednesday.

 

Frank Wood is home from his visit at Hayward two weeks since.

 

Henry Winter purchased a Ford touring car from Knorr & Rausch.

 

Elva Amidon, after spending a week with her grandparents at Melrose, returned home Saturday morning.

 

Prof. G.D. Vincent made a business trip to Chicago Wednesday morning.

 

A.J. Knorr’s warehouse was put on a permanent stone foundation this week.

 

Mrs. Walter Graves returned home Tuesday from her visit at Fond du Lac.

 

Mrs. Wm. Schafer returned home Tuesday from her visit in the southern part of the state.

 

Aug. Holtz of Plainfield is here since Wednesday engaged in putting up a silo for Louis Nickel.

 

Ell Lee drove down from Heathville Wednesday and took dinner with his daughter, Mrs. L. Morris.

 

Ed Jacobson is her from the Pacific coast and with his family at the W.W. Page home.

 

Mrs. Sarah LaBudde of Colby is visiting Mrs. Amelia Reichert and Miss Appolonia Cornelius here since Wednesday.

 

Mrs. Fred Bredlau came down from Loyal Tuesday and remained until today visiting among relatives and old friends.

 

Miss Mildred Hazen of Green Bush is expected here this week to visit at the Arthur Phipps home.

 

Mrs. Paul Scholtz and children came over from Neillsville Saturday and remained until Wednesday, guests at the Geo. Toptine home.

 

Philmore Kemmeter went to Milwaukee early last week, where at a hospital he underwent an operation for nose trouble.  He expects to be home today.

 

Mrs. W.S. Davis and Mrs. E. Crandall were Neillsville visitors on Monday.

 

Wayne Potter autoed in Monday and met the evening train which brought Miss Schuler up from Brillion for a visit at her brother, Al Schuler’s.

 

Attorney C.R. Sturdevant and Dick Lynch, both of Neillsville, purchased Ford touring cars of Knorr & Rausch last Monday.

 

Lev Morris is visiting relatives and old friends between Milwaukee, Wales, Waukesha and other state point, since Friday.  Geo. Nichols is carrying mail on route 3 in his stead.

 

Mrs. Wm. Henning and Miss Berth Hintz of Eau Claire, after a 5 day visit at Fred Zille’s, went home on Saturday.

 

Mrs. Henry Sternitzky and daughter Helen spent Tuesday with relatives at Marshfield.

 

Robert Chapel is looking after the outdoor work on the Ed Soles farm during Ed’s stay at the hospital.

 

The Misses Martha Beer and Roshen of Marshfield were over Sunday guests at the Phillip Breseman home.

 

Clyde Shaw expects to return home to Cornelian Junction by auto, having purchased a touring car of Knorr & Rausch today.

 

Mrs. Louis Nelson of Des Moines, Ia., after a two week visit here with her sister Mrs. S. Winn who she had not seen before in ten years, left for home on Wednesday.

 

Loyal Jordan purchased the Clyde Shaw 40-acre farm in York, together with all the stock and machinery, this week.

 

Mr. and Mrs. Chas. Neinas and Gus Bergeman and family arrived home all O.K by auto Monday evening after a couple of weeks visit in Outagamie County.

 

Miss Bertha Goebel came home from Milwaukee Thrusday morning to spend some time here with her parents.

 

Bro. Harry Hartson of the Greenwood Gleaner autoed down last Friday on business.  This office acknowledges a pleasant call.

 

The front wall on the Knorr & Rausch garage had to be torn down and built over again the fore part of this week.

 

Mrs. Alfred Bartz and baby Marion spent Thursday at Mrs. C. Albrecht’s in Chili in attendance at the Ladies Aid of Rev. Zieladorf’s parish.

 

Leland Davis has been engaged to accompany Clyde Shaw to St. Paul on the initial trip in the latter’s new car on Saturday.

 

Miss Bessie Beeckler is expected home from Sheboygan tomorrow, having completed her school work there for this year.

 

Miss Bertha Riedel and her sister Mrs. Fred Bredlau drove to Lynn Thursday and spent the day with relatives there.

 

Mrs. Baer and daughter Helene will go to Wausau tomorrow on a several days pleasure trip and visit relatives and friends.

 

The Reichert boys are decidedly improving their place of business with new siding, painting, etc.  The photo gallery has been filled up with a large sky light too this week.  Ernest Crevecouer, Herman Schoengarth and Geo. Garbush have, with Alvin Reichert, been engaged with the work.

 

The Schroder barn, which was purchased by Gus Bergeman, was moved to the Bergeman lot this week.  Sherman Gress with crew is doing the work.

 

The Misses Rose and Mary Morrissey of Edgerton arrived here Friday and remained until Tuesday, guests of Mr. and Mrs. Rush Wentworth.

 

Miss Bernice Stockwell, after a 2 week visit at our home, joined her parents at Neillsville on Friday, upon their return from Rochester, N.Y., and with them returned to Spooner the next day.

 

The Geo. Wilding, Herman Thiede, Ed Wiesner, Henry Winter, Willie Kurth, Carl Braatz, A.J. Knorr and F.J. Baer families enjoyed the Kinderfest in Rev. Reiff’s parish in Pine Valley on Sunday.

 

During the electric storm on Thursday night of last week the E.A. Beeckler home was struck and though all escaped serious injury, they were considerable shaken up and not a little frightened.  The house mutely bespeaks of the strike.

 

Mrs. Henry Lawson and daughter Clara, Mrs. Kearney Davis and daughter Maurine and Charlotte, Mrs. Hale Davis, Miss Lillian, McGinnis, Richard Gotter, Chas. Marden, Mrs. Albert Sternitzky, Mrs. R. Wentworth and Misses Morrissey were at Neillsville on Saturday.

 

The W.J. Thayer, Fred and Geo. Hart, Homer Downer, Al Nonhof, J.B. Daughhetee, W.D. Rose, Elmer Rose, Geo. Wilson, Frank Potter, Herman Schoengarth families autoed up into Weston and picnicked on the Island on Sunday.

 

Will Kurth suffered the loss of a large barn by fire of unknown origin early Tuesday afternoon.  Fortunately the phone service was excellent and with the help thus summoned the James Hughes home was saved, though it was only by hard work, for it repeatedly caught fire.  Will’s silo roof was consumed and other buildings of his damaged.  He was insured in the Lynn Mutual Fire Insurance Co.
