Vetterkind, William #3 (31 AUG 1900 - 8 AUG 1961)

 

William Ernest Vetterkind passed away on Tuesday afternoon August 8, 1961, after suffering a heart attack while working on the Earl Baehr farm.  He had attained the age of 60 years, 11 months and 8 days.  He was a member of St. John’s Lutheran Church of Withee since 1929.

 

He was united in marriage to Viola Collier on Aug. 14, 1926, at St. Paul, Minn.  During his life span he was engaged in farming, milk hauling and construction work.  He was an ardent sportsman, enjoying hunting and fishing.

 

Mr. Vetterkind leaves to mourn, his wife, Mrs. Viola Vetterkind, two daughters and three sons, Alice (Mrs. Charles Hinke) of Abbotsford; Evelyn (Mrs. James Seliskar), Greenwood; Halley Vetterkind, Greenwood; William C. Vetterkind, Cadott, and Ernest Vetterkind of Withee.  He is also survived by three sisters and two brothers, Ella (Mrs. Carl Miller) of Withee, Mrs. Ethel Jennings of Thorp, Emily (Mrs. Laurence Page) of Milwaukee, and five grandchildren and a host of friends.

 

Services were conducted by Rev. Timmerman at the Hoeper and Kraut Funeral Home on Friday, Aug. 11, 1961, at 2:00 o’clock, with interment in Riverside Cemetery.

 

Pallbearers were Harry Baehr, George Baehr, Al Bowers, Ray Ragalske, Ray Nevala, Byers Babbitt.  Flower girls were Mesdames Al Bowers, Ray Nevala and B. Babbitt.
