Greenwood (16 April 1964)

 

Forest Queen Royal Neighbor Camp met in the Legion Hall in Greenwood with the oracle, Mrs. Lawrence Cox, presiding.

 

Deputy Mrs. Caroline Seidl of Marshfield reported on the Wisconsin Fraternal Congress, she attended recently.

 

Following the business session, games were played and prizes were awarded to Mrs. Adelbert Wells, Mrs. Caroline Seidl and Mrs. Minnie Cox.

 

A lunch was served by Mrs. Alma Mason, Mrs. Clarissa Steele and Mrs. Chal Perkins.  The next meeting will be held May 4, with Mrs. Christ Keiner, Mrs. Hugh Severson and Miss Louise Keiner as hostesses.

Mr. and Mrs. Donald Fontaine are the parents of a son, Timothy Alan, born April 7, in Marshfield.

 

Members of the Suffragette club were entertained last Thursday afternoon at the home of Mrs. Edgar Opdyke.

 

The Canasta club met last week Wednesday afternoon at the home of Mrs. Frances Hinker.

 

Mrs. Frank Smaldone, who was admitted April 7, to Memorial Hospital in Neillsville, underwent surgery last week Wednesday.

 

St. Jane’s group sponsored a card party at St. Mary’s Hall.  Prizes were awarded in sheepshead to Richard Rondorf and Joseph Kohlnhofer; in 500, to Mrs. Catherine Lindner and Mrs. Mary Barr; in pinochle, to Mrs. John Brezic and Mrs. Matt Gregorich; in skat to George Scherer; and in Bunco to Mrs. Eugene Carteron.  A special prize was awarded to Mrs. John Lindner.

 

Val Krainz, Jr., has returned to Madison after spending a vacation with his parents.  He is enrolled in the University.

 

Mr. and Mrs. Robert Stewart, accompanied by their house guests, Mrs. Ronald Hoagland and children, Donna, Merlyn and Gary, of Milwaukee, spent an evening at the Robert Stewart home in Stanley.

 

Mr. and Mrs. Gary Rohde and son, Dean, have returned to Madison after spending a vacation with their parents, Mr. and Mrs. Robert Stewart and Mr. and Mrs. Gilbert Rohde.

 

Judith Seliskar entertained friends after school Thursday at the home of her parents, Mr. and Mrs. Phillip Seliskar, in celebration of her 10th birthday. Those present were Beverly Bayuk, Debra Stabnow, Theresa Sloniker, Patti Barr, Patrice Pakiz, Raymond Lamovec, Randy Seliskar, and Judith’s sister, Mary Ann.

 

The birthday of Mrs. Paul Minsaas was celebrated at her home Friday evening. Those attending the party were Mr. and Mrs. Floyd Christie of Loyal, Mr. and Mrs. Hugh Christie, Mr. and Mrs. Gordon Oldham and family and Mr. and Mrs. Johnson and daughter, Marion.

 

Mr. and Mrs. Allen Turnquist and family of Milwaukee, and Mr. and Mrs. Arlyn Turnquist and family of Wausau spent the weekend with their parents, Mr. and Mrs. Arthur Turnquist and attended the Solberg-Turnquist wedding.

 

Mr. and Mrs. Mike Klapatauskas and family and Mr. and Mrs. Lawrence Kitzhaber were guests Sunday at the home of Mr. and Mrs. Wally Brey in Neillsville, in honor of their son, David’s first Holy Communion.  Other guests were Mr. and Mrs. Bernard Kitzhaber and family, who also visited at Memorial Home with her grandmother, Mrs. Thomas Peaslee, who recently became a resident there.

 

Miss Hilda Turnquist and Miss Janis Abel returned to Green Bay Sunday after spending the weekend here and attending the Solberg-Turnquist wedding.

 

Sunday visitors at the Godfrey Dyre home were Mr. and Mrs. Howard Olsen of Owen and Mr. and Mrs. Edward Rossow. Dinner guests were her parents, Mr. and Mrs. Otto Voie.

 

Mr. and Mrs. Howard Verhagen and daughter, Cheryl, of Lake Villa, Ill, spent the weekend here with their daughter, Mrs. Bernard Kitzhaber and family, and with Mrs. Verhagen’s parents, Mr. and Mrs. William Steltenpohl in Neillsville.

 

Mrs. Minnie Cox was hostess to the Canasta Club at her home Wednesday afternoon.

 

Allen Schneider of Milwaukee and Robert Schneider of Madison spent the weekend with their parents, Mr. and Mrs. Robert Schneider.

 

Mr. and Mrs. Robert Genett of Spencer were Saturday visitors at the home of Mrs. Carl Stabnow.
