Strangfeld, Bonnie Mae (Marriage - 11 April 1964)

Zion Lutheran Church of Grant was the setting Saturday, April 11, for the wedding of Miss Bonnie Mae Strangfeld, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. William Strangfeld of Rt. 3 Neillsville, and Donald Wayne Elmhorst, son of Mr. and Mrs. Robert Elmhorst of Rt. 1, Granton.  The Rev. F. C. Benecke performed the double ring ceremony before an altar adorned with two baskets of flowers. The aisle was laid with a white carpet.

As she approached the altar with her father, who gave her in marriage, the bride was attired in a floor-length gown of white Chantilly lace and gossamer sheer tulle. The scalloped Sabrina neckline sparkled with sequins.  Long tapered sleeves accented the fitted bodice. The full, bouffant skirt was styled with a lace panel down the front and tiers of tulle edged with lace around the sides and back.  A crown of pearls held her bouffant veil of silk illusion.  She carried a white prayer book topped with red garnet roses and ribbon showers.

Miss Pat Shirley of Humbird and Miss Mary Ann Oldham of Elkhorn served as bridesmaids. They wore identical dresses of light green nylon chiffon-over-taffeta.  Their bouquets were crescent-shaped, made up of Champagne carnations.

The groom was attended by Victor Elmhorst as bestman. Groomsmen were Albert Strangfeld of Kenosha, Donald Strangfeld of Neillsville, and Tommy Elmhorst, ushered.

Both bride and groom are high school graduates.  Mr. Elmhorst is working with his father in the pulpwood industry.

On their return from a wedding trip they will reside temporarily on Rt. 3, Neillsville.
