Potocnik, Nancy I. (24 MAR 1962)

 

Given in marriage by her father, Nancy Ingrid Potocnik, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Emil Potocnik of Owen (Clark Co., Wis.) became the bride of Dale Allen Amacher, son of Mr. and Mrs. Fred Amacher of Owen at St. John’s Lutheran Church at Withee on Saturday, March 24, 1962, at 4:00 o’clock in the afternoon.  Bouquets of snapdragons and daffodils decorated the church, with the Rev. Howard A. Timmerman officiating at the ceremony.

 

During the ceremony Edna Mae Beck sang "Oh Perfect Love," and "The Lord’s Prayer," with Mrs. Herman Rabska accompanist.

 

The bride wore a white floor length gown of silk organza, styled with a scalloped scoop neckline, trimmed with sequins.  The bodice ahd a V-shaped lace insert, while the full hoop skirt had a wide lace borer and ended in a chapel train.  Her fingertip veil of silk illusion was held by a tiara headpiece covered with pearls.  The bridal bouquet was made of red roses and white carnations intertwined with ivy.

 

Maid of honor was Miss Jane Strohkirch of Owen, a close friend of the bride, with bridesmaids being Miss Sherrie Amacher, sister of the groom, and Miss Sally Potocnik, sister of the bride.  They wore identically styled street length dresses of silk organza styled with shirred scoop necklines and bouffant skirts with bustle effect backs.  The maid of honor’s gown was gold while the two bridesmaids were green.  Their headpieces were organza bow clips completed with face veils.  They carried bouquets of yellow roses and white carnations and ivy.

 

Attending the groom was Bruce Amacher as best man, brother of the groom, with groomsmen Marvin Raatz and Marlyn Laabs of Owen.

 

Cousins of the groom, Douglas Eggert and John Laakso were the ushers.

 

Following the ceremony, a reception supper was given at the American Legion Hall with a dance following in the evening.

 

The newlyweds are both graduates of the Owen-Withee High School.  The groom graduated with the class of ’60, while the bride graduated with the class of ’61.  They are both attending the University of Wisconsin and will be at home at 10 20 Williamson St. at Madison.

 

Out of town guests came from Medford, Stetsonville, Duluth, Weyauwega, Milwaukee, Portage, Waukegan, Ill., and Ottowa, Ill.
