Alperstett, Beulah (19 NOV 1920-31 DEC 2011)

 

Beulah, Alperstett, 91, Spring Green, formerly of Loyal and Greenwood, joined her heavenly father on Saturday, Dec. 31, 2011, at Greenway Manor Nursing Home, Spring Green. A celebration of life service will be held at 2 p.m., on Saturday, Jan. 14, at Christ Lutheran Church, Spring Green, with visitation beginning at 1 p.m. Burial will be held at a later date at Forest Hill Cemetery, Greenwood.

 

Beulah, Gordee was born on the Harry and Stella Gordee family farm, north of Greenwood, on Nov. 19, 1920. Sh attended Benjamin Grade School and graduated from Greenwood High School in 1939. She graduated from Eau Claire Teachers College and taught grades 1-8 in the Braun Settlement area. She married Melvin Alperstett on June 7, 1944, and raised a family on their Clark County dairy farm. Beulah was a loving wife and mother. She was a 4-H leader, member of the Farm Bureau Women Association, Jolly Homemakers, Our Savior’s Lutheran Church in Greenwood, and in later years, Christ Lutheran Church in Spring Green. She loved bowling, traveling, gardening, camping, playing golf, playing cards and shaking dice with friends. Beulah and Melvin retired from farming in 1976 and moved to Loyal, where they lived for 26 years. In 2001, they moved to Spring Green to be closer to family.

 

Survivors include four daughters, Carol (David Williams) Jefferson, Spring Green, Connie (Steve) Miller, Spring Green, Kaye (Travis) West, The Woodlands, Texas, and Corinne (Sean) Dever, The Woodlands, Texas; five grandchildren, Shelley, Dana and Monica (Victor Rousse) West, Steven Miller and Jack Dever; three great-grandchildren, Kiana and Braedon Miller, and Hank Rousse; one sister, Verla Rear, Ojai, Calif.; and one brother, Everett Gordee, Milwaukee.

 

She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Melvin Alperstett, on Aug. 10, 2009; and four siblings, Agnes Biernat, Avis Gordee, Earl Gordee, and Calvin Gordee.

 

A special thank you to Beulah’s caregiver family at Greenway Manor who consistently gave her outslanding care, love and support.

 

In lieu of flowers, memorials can be given in Beulah’s name to Christ Lutheran Church, 237 E. Daley Street, Spring Green, WI or Greenway Manor Volunteer Program, 501 So. Winsted Street, Spring Green, WI 53588.
