Miller, Marion (11 JAN 1913 - 17 JUN 1962)

Death came quietly for Mrs. Walter Miller, nee Marion Adams, June 17, 1962, at St. Joseph’s Hospital at Chippewa Falls, where she was being treated for an illness which had afflicted her for the past two years.

Funeral services were held Wednesday at 2:00 o’clock from the Alliance Chapel, Owen, with the parish pastor, Rev. James Stone reading the final rites.  Burial was made at St. Paul’s Lutheran Cemetery at Green Grove.  Serving as pallbearers were Rheinholt Voge, Art Lodahl, Joe Schultz, Cal Milas and John Eder, Chippewa Falls, and George Stark, Greenwood.

Born Jan. 11, 1913, at Avon, S.D., Mrs. Miller had spent most of her younger days in this area, living on a farm at Longwood (Clark Co., Wis.) and attended the Owen Public Schools.  After graduation she enrolled at the Neillsville Training School at Neillsville for two years and then transferred to Superior Teachers College at Superior.  She then followed her profession of teaching for several years.

On June 22, 1943, she was united in marriage to Walter Miller in a ceremony performed in Owen.  The couple has no children.

She is survived by her husband, her mother, Mrs. Mabel Adams, Withee, a brother, Joseph, also of rural Withee, and one sister, Mrs. George (Julia) Macik, Medford.
