Miss Bertha Barth spent Sunday with relatives at Nasonville.

 

Miss Rosa Viergutz went to Marshfield on Saturday.

 

Ferdinand Reichert spent Sunday with his brother L.A. at Chili.

 

Mr. and Mrs. G.D. Vincent and baby spent Sunday at Edgar.

 

J.M. Tompkins transacted business at Marshfield Saturday.

 

Mr. and Mrs. Bush Davis of Loyal are visiting relatives here.

 

Mrs. Chas. Noyes of Humbird, after a week’s visit with her sister Mrs. Fred Hart, went home Saturday.

 

Mr. and Mrs. L.G. Morris went to Milwaukee Saturday on a week’s business and pleasure trip.

 

Miss Emma Schlinsog, after a 2 week visit here with her parents, returned to Chicago last Saturday.

 

Dan Sneller, a young chemist of Minneapolis, visited Timothy King last week.

 

Mrs. L.N. Jensen spent Tuesday at Neillsville having dental work done.

 

Mrs. Hatch of Medford made a several days visit at S.E. Jones’ last week.

 

C.H. Stockwell did some surveying for the German Lutheran Church society her Monday.

 

Miss Clara Hubing is a praire du Sac since last Saturday engaged in millinery work.

 

Luzerne Rollins of Plainfield, who had been visiting at Wm. Boushes, went home Saturday.

 

Miss Irma Albrecht has accepted a position in the Geo. Hart store and began work there last week.

 

Miss Elsie Johnson is teaching in Levis since Monday.

 

August Lautenbach went to Eau Claire on Sunday.

 

Mrs. Jake Kundert of Chili was in town on business on Monday.

 

Miss Eva Gates of Sherwood took the train here Friday for Oshkosh on a week’s visit.

 

Will Churchill of Milwaukee is visiting at the P.J. Kemmeter home since early this week.

 

P.J. Kemmeter is in Milwaukee this week taking int eh state fair.

 

Frank Downer spent Wednesday at Marshfield.

 

Rudolph Frantz made a business trip to Marshfield Wednesday.

 

Mrs. Harvey Hill and daughters Gertrude and Mae went to Stanley Wednesday to spend a week at the John Paul home.

 

Mrs. A.J. Knorr is home from her trip to the Yellowstone Park.

 

Mr. Ben Joern of Fall Creek is the new barber who opens up the Granton Brass Band Barbershop tomorrow, Saturday, at eight a.m., and will keep her open thereafter.

 

T.F. Lee came home Saturday from his trip to Fort Atkinson, Milwaukee, Palmyra and various othere state points.

 

Mr. and Mrs. Frank Furgeson are keeping house at the L.G. Morris home this week.  Margareth and Lee Morris are at home and attending school.

 

Mrs. Price Lee, Mrs. Langdon Nichols, Mrs. Eva Canfield, Ray Canfield and Mr. and Mrs. Frank Dubes were county seat visitors Saturday.

 

Mr. and Mrs. Frank Root spent much of last week here visiting relatives and old friends, and returned home to Rudolph on Saturday.

 

Mr. and Mrs. James Rowe and Daughter Melba of Dodgeville, after a week’s visit at Bert Gullicks’, left on Wednesday for Greenwood.

 

Mrs. J.B. Daughhetee could not entertain the Circle this week Wednesday, but announces that she will endeavor to do so next Wednesday.

 

John Eibergen of Chili, who is just home from a visit at Art Garvin’s in Baker, Mont., spent Monday here with the Frank Davis family.

 

The Granton O.E.S. Birthday Club, with some visiting sisters from Lindsey and Dubuque, Iowa, enjoyed a delightful party given by Mrs. R.T. Washburn at Lynn, last Saturday afternoon.

 

Mr. and Mrs. Geo. Hart, Mr. and Mrs. Leland Davis, Mrs. Rice Davis, Mr. and Mrs. John Madler, C.C. Berg, Miss Bertha Riedel, Miss Bertha Barth, Miss Gertie Holmes were among the Grantonites at the county seat on Monday.

 

Chas. Neinas transacted business at Fall Creek the fore part of the week.

 

Rev. Wolff announces that next Sunday evening will be the last service before conference and that it will be devoted to the interest of foreign missions.  A free will offering will be taken for that cause.  Come and bring you friends.

 

Hilton Kurth, youngest son of Mr. and Mrs. Richard Kurth, met with a painful accident Monday morning.  The boy was about to bring a load of hogs to Granton when the team, a pair of colts, took fright and ran away, throwing Hilton from the wagon, the fall resulting in the fracture of one leg.

 

Mr. and Mrs. Minard Scott of Genoa, Ill., a bridal couple, who were married last week Wednesday, arrived here Monday and remained until Tuesday noon, guests of the Elmer Dennis and Fred Wright families.  Mrs. Scott was born Hazel Brown, a daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Geo. H. Brown, who nine years ago lived on the H.E. Williams farm just east of town.

 

Miss Elva Thayer was at Neillsville Tuesday and took a lesson on her violin.

 

Miss Ora Marsh is visiting her brother Earl and friends at Duluth since Saturday.

 

Chas. Meisner and Fred Frank have the job of plastering the new Amidon building.

 

Mrs. W.J. Thayer left for Portland, Oregon on Saturday for a couple of months visit with relatives.

 

Mrs. Emmet Martin and daughter Miss Alice Miller of Cudahy have been visiting at Frank X. Smith’s since Friday.

 

Mr. and Mrs. W.G. McHenry and daughter Myrtle after a 10 day visit at the W.J. Davis home went home to Milwaukee on Friday.

 

Charlotte Fredette and Elsie Twitchell of Chicago were weekend guests at the Herb Fredette home in York.

 

Mr. and Mrs. Roy Wright are home from Canada since Saturday.  He will probably buy a farm and remain here permanently.

 

Ross Paulson arrived home from the Dakotas Teusday with a carload of fine horses.

 

Miss Dora Toptine came home Tuesday from a week’s visit with relatives and friends at Neillsville.

 

Ray Howard, Mr. and Mrs. Jas. Fredette and sons John and Mac of Greenwood spent Sunday at Hebert Fredette.

 

Dora Guk of Lynn is boarding with Mrs. Gerzemehle and attending school here.

 

Mr. and Mrs. Ezra Sherrett, who went to Kaukauna to attend the funeral of the late W.A. Dyer, are home again since last week.

 

Mr. and Mrs. Eysnogle of Richland Center, after a 4 day visit at Chas. Sheffner’s in Spokeville, went home Saturday.

 

Mr. and Mrs. Ole Peterson of Superior were guests of the Louis Eschenberg family over south last week.

 

Mr. and Mrs. Otto Priebe of Minneapolis after a 5 day visit at Oscar Kuechenmeister’s left on Saturday for Detroit, Mich.

 

Mrs. Pflum of Marshfield and Mrs. A. Martens of Chili spent Monday morning here with Mrs. John Bladl.

 

Baby Grant Morris is visiting Grandpa and Grandma Lee at Heathville since last Saturday, when his parents left for Milwaukee.

 

Mrs. Mabel Welsh of Spokeville has rented the rooms over the Steele-Felser blacksmith shop and will keep house there so that her three children Sather, Rollo and Arlei may be with her and attend school.

 

Lucille and Neva Henze, Sarah Mae and Jean Davis, Mildred Kintzele, and Pearl Berg are among the Granton girls attending the Neillsville High School this year.

 

Arthur Neinas writes his brother Henry to the effect that he likes his studies at the Appleton Business College and is working hard to succeed.

 

Mrs. C.E. Beecker, who accompanied Clyde Shaw and family to Cornelian Junction by auto last week Monday, returned home by rail last Monday much pleased with her trip and visit.

 

Mrs. Paul Zeiger of La Crosse, after a several days visit between the Jos. and Mat Rondorf homes in York, visited the W.D. Rose family between Friday and Monday.  Her husband is a nephew of Mrs. W.D. Rose.

 

J.K Rowley of Racine County, after a week’s visit at Rev. Knaack’s and thereabout, went home Monday.  He purchased the old Dorn farm of 120 acres of Chas. Herderick in the town of Loyal and will return here with his family about Nov. 1st to take up residence on his farm.

 

Last week Thursday while Mrs. Elmer Dennis was standing on a chair picking apples off a tree she had the misfortune to have the chair tip over and throw her to the ground, since which time she ahs gone about on crutches, owing to a sprained ankle suffered in the fall.

 

Louis and Hank Arndt of Chicago, after a 3 week visit at the Wittkamp home in Sherwood, returned to the city on Tuesday.

 

Mr. and Mrs. Kearney Davis, their daughters Charlotte and Maurine and Frant Osgood left for Tacoma, Walla Walla and various other Pacific coast points Wednesday on a couple months pleasure trip.
