Zepplin, John (12 MAY 1883-APR 3, 1958)

 

John P. Zepplin, 74, route two, Stratford, died at 5:30 p.m. Thursday at St. Joseph’s Hospital, where he had been a patient for two days with a heart ailment. Mr. Zepplin was the father of Byron Zepplin.

Funeral services were held at 2 o’clock at Zion Evangelical United Brethren Church, Marshfield, with the Rev. Stanley C. F. Hayes officiating. Interment followed in Hillside cemetery.

 

Mr. Zepplin was born May 12, 1883, in Barneveld, where he was educated and married Edna Lydia Baker June 30, 1910. They moved there to their present home in the town of McMillian in 1917.Mr. Zepplin was a past director of the McMillian School Board and a member of the Marshfield EUB Church.

 

Besides his wife he leaves three daughters and three sons, Mrs. Gerald (Ruth) Birge, Temple City, Calif, Mrs. Randall (Virginia) Budahn, route 3, Stratford, Mrs. Herbert (Edna) Miller, Cornersville, John Jr. and James, Stratford, and Byron of Loyal; two brothers, Charles of Oshkosh and William of Barneveld; and 13 grandchildren. Three sisters and a brother proceded him in death.
