Whipple, Jerold W. (13 SEP 1945 - 31 DEC 2011)

 

Jerold W. Whipple, 66, died Dec 31, 2011, at home with his wife and daughter by his side. Jerold died of kidney disease, lung failure, and heart failure.

A memorial service will be held at 11 a.m. Saturday,

Feb. 11, 2012, at Faith Lutheran Church, 207 S. Cherry Ave., Marshfield.

Visitation will at the church from 10 a.m. until time of service. Lunch will be served at the church following service.

Private services were held Saturday, Jan. 7, 2012, at Brooklyn Lutheran Church, Brooklyn Park, Minn. 

Inurnment was Jan. 6, 2012, at Fort Snelling National Cemetery, St. Paul, Minn.

Jerold William was born Sept. 13, 1945, to Ira and Isabel (Rogers) Whipple. He grew up in Chili where his family farmed. He attended Pine Circle school house in Chili until fifth grade, and finished his schooling in Marshfield.

He was in the Army from July 1968 until September of 1973, stationed in Fort Carson, Colorado; and serving in the Vietnam War from July 1968 to 1969.

He married Eldora R. Wienke on Oct. 21, 1989. They lived in Marshfield, then moved to Mosinee, Wis.

He worked as a security guard in Marshfield at Northway Mall and in Wausau at ITS security until getting ill in 2004.

He liked to listen to books on tapes, fishing, hunting, collecting old model cars, and spending time with his granddaughter Willow.

Jerold is survived by his wife, Eldora; four children, Mary Margaret Stephens, Jerold William Whipple Jr, Laura Marie Cowles, and Joni-Isabel Dorothy Ahlbeck; eight grandchildren, Jacqueline Muellerliele, Castle Ahlbeck, Passion Stephens, River Ahlbeck, John Cowles, Zander Stephens, Martese Cowles and Willow Ahlbeck; four great-grandchildren, Leona Ahlbeck, Ce'zaria Ahlbeck, Bryson Amundson and Sincere Mathison; one sister, Rosalie Brandt of Medford, Wis.; and one brother, Ronald Whipple of Euliss Texas.

He was predeceased by his parents; brothers, Richard Whipple, John Whipple in infancy, James Whipple and Robert Whipple; sisters, Lorraine Berdan, Betty Steltenpohl, Louise Wagner and Peggy (Margaret Mary) Whipple.
