Mrs. Achille Ampe, 67, who has been in ill health for the past six years, died at 8 p.m. Saturday at Memorial Hospital, Neillsville, where she was admitted on Friday.

The former Jeanne Morlet was born in Paris, France, March 4, 1892.  She was married to Achille Ampe in France in 1913.

The couple came to the United States in 1914 and settled in Glenwood City.  Later they moved to a farm in the Thorp area  and in 1924 they moved to a farm in the town of Loyal.  In 1947 they moved to the City of Loyal where she has since resided.

She is survived by her husband; six daughters, Mrs. Walter (Lucille) Hohl, Greenwood; Mrs. Reuben (Ruth) Gotter, Marshfield; Mrs. Lee (Odette) Larson, Greenwood; Mrs. Arlyn (Helen) Ewert, Unity; Mrs. Ray (Alice) Reinertson, Madrid, Iowa; and Mrs. Russell (Pauline) Haupt, Hartford; one son, Paul Ampe of Greenwood; 29 grandchildren, and two sisters, Mrs. Marcelle Berneaux of Criel, France and Miss Renee Morlet of Paris, France.

Two sons, two daughters, one brother, and one sister preceded her in death.

Funeral services were held at the Myre Funeral Home at 9:30 a.m. Tuesday with the Rev. Norbert E. King officiating.  Burial was in the Catholic Cemetery.

Pallbearers for the funeral of Mrs. Achille Ampe Tuesday morning were John Goetz, John Bannach, Alvin Miller, Max Langfeldt, Henry Aumann, and Robert Missling.

Among those attending the funeral services were:  Mr. and Mrs. Arlyn Ewert and children, Unity; Mr. and Mrs. Ray Reinertson and child, Madrid, Iowa; Mrs. Russell Haupt, Hartford; Mr. and Mrs. Reuben Gotter and children and Mr. and Mrs. Ray Ampe, Marshfield; Mr. and Mrs. Walter Hohl and children, Mrs. Lee Larson, Mr. and Mrs. Paul Ampe and children, Mrs. Frieda Ampe, Mr. Art Ampe, Mrs. Anita Miller, Lawrence Larson, and Mrs. Fred Hohl, Greenwood; Mr. and Mrs. Everett Super, Onalaska; Mrs. Jerry Meysernbourg and Miss Marcia Wehe, Milwaukee; Mr. Charles Deniszkiewcz and Mr. and Mrs. Walter Pajak, Thorp; Mr. Fred Haupt, Granton and Mr. John Wehe, Loyal.
