Frost, Rev. Arthur E. (18 AUG 1890 - 13 NOV 1962)

 

Funeral services for Rev. Arthur E. Frost, former resident of Withee (Clark Co., Wis.), were held at 1:30 o’clock Saturday, November 17, from the Nazareth Lutheran Church, Withee.  Rev. Byrl Knudsen, pastor of the parish, and Rev. Edwin E. Hansen, Muskegon, Mich., officiated at the final rites with the Rev. M. Mickelson and Ollan Jorgesen, Minneapolis, assisting.

 

Prior to this memorial services were held at Des Moines, Iowa, where Rev. Frost passed away at the Danish Old Peoples Home Nov. 13, 1962, being a victim of Parkinson’s disease and complications which he had endure for several years.

 

Rev. Frost was born Aug. 18, 1890, in Chicago, Ill., and moved to Withee with his parents when a small boy.  He attended Withee High School and later Grand View College at Des Moines, Iowa.  He completed his education at the University of Minnesota.  He was ordained to the ministry at Withee on the 1st of August, 1920, in his home parish as a minister of the American Evangelical Lutheran Church.

 

His first pastorate was at Dagmar, Mont., where he served his call for 11 years.  Afterwards he served parishes at Askov, Minn.; Dannevang, Texas; Waterloo, Iowa, and Salinas, Calif.

 

He was married Oct. 10, 1920, to the former Emma Jacobson at Askov, Minn.  Three children were born to this wedlock, one of them passing away in infancy.  Surviving are a son, Herley of Fort Worth, Texas, and a daughter, Mrs. Evelyn Peterson of Muskateen, Iowa; two grandsons and three granddaughters; two sisters, Mrs. Helvina Mailand, Long Grove, Ill., and Mrs. (Thyra) Edwin E. Hansen, Muskegon, Mich., and one brother, Alfred Frost of Withee.

 

Serving as pallbearers were Jens Andersen, Sig Sorensen, Emil H. Hansen, Ole Ammentorp and Karl Jensen.  Karen and Alfa Holm, Frances Sorensen and Marie Ammentorp were in charge of the floral offerings.

 

Friends and relatives here from out of town for the service included Rev. Hansen’s daughters, Mr. and Mrs. Gene Franks and family, and Mrs. Donald Dezlasky and two daughters of Muskegon, Mich.; Mr. and Mrs. Ovie Hermanson, Askov, Minn., Helvig Jacobsen, Minneapolis, Minn., Thorwald Jacobsen, Askov, Minn., Rev. Mickelson and Rev. Allan Jorgeson, Minneapolis, Minn.
