Humbird (19 November 1964)

 

Birthdays do roll around: Friday night 25 relatives gathered at the Levi Fitzmaurice home to help him celebrate his birthday and extend greetings.

 

Mr. and Mrs. Tom Sliter of Merrillan were dinner guests Sunday of Mrs. Lucy Gephart.

 

Ralph Finnegan of Elkhart, Ind., was an overnight guest Sunday at the Arnold Matti home.

 

Mrs. Dwight Balow and daughter of Curtiss, and Mrs. Dale Struensee and children of rural Neillsville, spent Friday afternoon at the Chester Bailey home.

 

Mrs. Pearl Johnson, accompanied by her sister, Mrs. Thelma Wright of Augusta, and Mrs. Elgie Hardwick, drove to Kenosha Friday to stay until Sunday at the Karl Johnson and LaMar Hardwick homes.

 

Mrs. Laura Dignin came Sunday evening to visit the Cullen Dignin’s.

 

Mrs. Edith Smith drove to Decorah, Ia., Saturday to spend several days at the home of her daughter, Mrs. Virgil Denk.

 

Mr. and Mrs. George Mashin of Neillsville spent Monday evening at the Frank Jarolimek home.

 

Mrs. Elmer Duerkop and Mrs. Hulda Winscher drove to La Crosse Thursday, Mrs. Winscher to spend a few days with her sister, Mrs. Alex Lubinski, and Mrs. Duerkop was an overnight guest at the Ronald Johnson home. She brought Tammy home Friday afternoon.

 

Mrs. Russell Schroeder of Alma Center and Mrs. Gordon Gering attended the funeral of Lloyd Gilbertson in Black River Falls Tuesday.

 

Mrs. Arvid Anderson of Kalama, Wash., is visiting her parents, Mr. Raymond Rice, in Augusta and her sister-in-law, Mrs. Fred Trachsel, and other relatives and friends, in Wisconsin for two weeks.

 

Mrs. Gordon Staves and Mr. and Mrs. Duane Staves and children of St. Paul spent the weekend visiting relatives here: Mrs. Gordon Staves in the Lyle Newell home, and the Duane Staves with her parents and her people in Fairchild.

 

Mr. and Mrs. Art Christen were Wednesday afternoon visitors at the Frank Jarolimek home.

 

Louis Drecktrah and mother of Black River Falls called on Mrs. Mae Ringrose Saturday afternoon.

 

Mr. and Mrs. Perle Pickett drove to Hanover, Ill., Friday to visit her niece, Mrs. Carroll Lein, until Sunday.

 

Mr. and Mrs. Glen Bohl and Rosemary and Mr. and Mrs. Charlie Bohl of Reedsburg spent Sunday at the Lewis Fitzmaurice home.

 

Mrs. Millie Trachsel, Mrs. Clarence Lund, Mrs. Lyle Prindle and Mrs. Arvid Anderson, here from Kalama, Wash., attended the art fair in Neillsville Friday.  Mrs. Trachsel and Mrs. Lund did painting in the window in the afternoon.  Mrs. Lund has had the honor of having two of her pictures, "Symphony in Red" and "the Old Mill," exhibited in the Straub Art Gallery in Madison, and to have the pictures sold from the gallery.

 

Mr. and Mrs. Hugh Terrell were supper guests Saturday at the Vaughn Ness home in Eau Claire, and brought Kevin home with them for a few days visit.

 

Mrs. Willard Stanley, Mrs. Hugh Terrell and their mother, Mrs. Lena Larson, called in Eau Claire Thursday.       

 

Mr. and Mrs. Harry Hart were in Evanston Sunday to visit her sister, Mrs. Jennie Bone.
