Zimmer, Bertha (25 AUG 1880 - 5 APR 1963)

 

Friends of Mr. and Mrs. Bert Ebert were sorry to hear of the death of her mother, Mrs. Bertha Zimmer, on Friday, April 5, 1963.  Mrs. Zimmer had made many friends in the Owen-Withee area the past year.  She had been living with her daughter and son-in-law, Mr. and Mrs. Eberts the past six months.  Funeral services were held from St. Paul’s Lutheran Church in Thorp on Monday, April 8.  The Rev. Robert Olson officiated and burial was made in Sylvan Cemetery in the town of Reseburg.

 

Pallbearers were James and Alfred Dahm, Daniel Bobb, James Albert and Glenn and John Zimmer.

 

Mrs. Zimmer was born Aug. 25, 1880, in Winnebago County, and was married in Dorchester on Nov. 25, 1896, to John Zimmer, who preceded her in death.  The couple resided near Thorp (Clark Co., Wis.) since the marriage.

 

Survivors include two sons, John, Greenwood, and Robert, Owen; two daughters, Mrs. Reinhold (Ida) Daniel and Mrs. Bert (Alene) Eberts, Withee; four grandchildren; 12 great-grandchildren, and a brother, Charles F. Schmidt, Milan.

 

Those attending the funeral services from this community were Rev. Beryl Knudsen, Mr. and Mrs. Peter Zasoba, Mr. and Mrs. Alfred Frost, Mrs. Caroline Ammentorp, Miss Isabelle Martin, Mr. and Mrs. Cecil Looker, Mr. and Mrs. Art Schwenke, Mr. and Mrs. H.R. Thiel, Mr. and Mrs. Alfred Knutson, Mrs. Mabel Vogler, Mr. and Mrs. Phil Laube, Mrs. Charles Stein, Mrs. Fred Hoeper, Mrs. Charles Thorne, Mrs. Pete Petersen, Mrs. Anna Sorensen, Emily Sorensen, Mrs. George Sorensen and Mr. and Mrs. Ray Purgett.
