Washburn (7 January 1965)

 

Our schools all opened Monday after 12 days vacation.

 

Mrs. Eugene Simmons will entertain the Washburn Homemakers club Thursday with dinner served at noon.  Mrs. Adolph Mazourek and Mrs. Ernest Kuhn will present the project, "Prepared Mixes and Master Mix".

 

Mrs. George Allbaugh will entertain the Cannonville Ladies Aid January 21.  Dinner will be served at noon.

 

Roger Rizner returned to Madison Sunday to resume his studies at the University of Wisconsin after spending two weeks’ vacation with his parents, Mr. and Mrs. William Rizner.

 

Miss Irene Wucki, who is employed in Oshkosh, spent the holidays with her parents, Mr. and Mrs. Robert Wucki.  Her father took her back to Oshkosh Sunday and spent a few days ice fishing on Lake Winnebago and visited his father, Walter Wucki, Sr., and sister, Mrs. Cook, and her family.

 

Mrs. Joe Chase and son, Kenny of Tacoma, Wash., Mr. and Mrs. James Quicker and family and Joe Chase of Milwaukee, Mr. and Mrs. Thomas Jacobs and family of Wausau, Mr. and Mrs. Allen Stanley and family of Granton, and Mr. and Mrs. Roy Stanley were entertained at the Dave Krutsch home Christmas Day.

 

Mr. and Mrs. George Reinart and family of Tomah, Mr. and Mrs. John Reinart and family, Mrs. Henry Hubing, Mr. and Mrs. Clarence Reinart and Mr. and Mrs. Warren Hemp and family were entertained at the Wade Lepke home New Year’s Day.  Peter Reinart of Merrillan called there in the afternoon.

 

Miss Vera Lincoln of Minneapolis spent New Year’s Day and the weekend with her parents Mr. and Mrs. Albert Lincoln.

 

Mr. and Mrs. Don Stewart and family of Verona spent the weekend with her parents, Mr. and Mrs. Ralph Short.

 

Mr. and Mrs. Donald Thomson and family of Chicago spent the New Year weekend with her parents, Mr. and Mrs. Ragnar Mortenson, and her brother, Robert Mortenson and his family.

 

Mrs. Elsbeth Wahlen of Madison returned home last week Monday after spending Christmas week with her son-in-law and daughter, Mr. and Mrs. William Rizner and family.

 

Mr. and Mrs. Kenneth Short and family and Jim Simek were New Year’s Day dinner guests at the Mrs. Frank Short home, Dick Urban called at the Short home in the afternoon.

 

Mr. and Mrs. Paul Kuhn and Mr. and Mrs. George Allbaugh were New Years’ Day dinner and supper guests at the Ernest Kuhn home.

 

Mr. and Mrs. Charles Havlicek, Sr., returned home last week Tuesday from Elgin, Ill, where they spent a week with their daughters, Mrs. John McNeil and family, and Shirley Havlicek.

 

Debra and Brenda Urban spent Saturday with their grandparents, Mr. and Mrs.  Irving Stevens.
