Spry, Nancy (Marriage - 23 January 1965)

The Granton Methodist Church was the scene Saturday of the wedding of Miss Nancy Spry of Marshfield, daughter of Mrs. Lloyd Spry of Granton and the late Mr. Spry, and Charles Thomas Anderson, son of Mr. and Mrs. Arnold Anderson of Wild Rose.  The nuptial vows were repeated before an altar graced with candelabra and baskets of white gladioli.  An archway of candles formed a canopy along the aisle.  The double ring ceremony was performed by the Rev. Oscar Nichols.

For her wedding the bride chose a floor length gown of peau faille taffeta. The bodice was styled with a satin midriff and a modified scoop neckline, outlined with piping. Enhancing the neckline were pearl strands and bugle bead embroidery in a floral pattern. A tiny bow trimmed the front of the wrist, with two small bows in the back.  Long, tapered sleeves came to points at the wrists. The long skirt had a sheath effect in front, with fullness at the back and tiny shirring at the waist. A bouffant veil of bridal illusion was secured to a large rolled rose flower headpiece having pearl embroidery. She carried a bouquet of red roses and white stephanotis.

Mrs. James Lee of Wild Rose was her matron of honor. Delores Matti of Marshfield served as bridesmaid. They wore Royal blue floor length sheath dresses of brocade, with overskirts. White fur headpieces with Royal blue veils, and white muffs with red tea roses entwined along the front, further enhanced their ensembles.

John Anderson of Wautoma attended his brother as bestman.  Groomsman was James Lee of Wild Rose.  Dave Broadwell of Neenah and Donavon Spry of Chili were ushers.

Mrs. Walter Helm, a cousin of the bride, sang, "Whither Thou Goest," "Because," and "The Lord’s Prayer" accompanied by Mrs. Leland Garbisch.

The bride is a graduate of Granton High School and attended Wisconsin State College in Whitewater for two years. She has been employed as an x-ray technician in Marshfield.

Mr. Anderson was graduated from Wild Rose High School and at present is with the United States Army, stationed on Belle Isle, Detroit, Mich.
