F.E. Gotter went to Random Lake on Tuesday.

 

Mrs. Chas. Hayden spent Saturday with friends at Chili.

 

Mr. and Mrs. Jas. Tremelling visited friends at Marshfield on Saturday.

 

Miss Ottillie Wisner went to Milwaukee Monday for an indefinite stay and visit with relatives.

 

Frank Preston came up from Cascade last Saturday and visited hereabouts until Monday.

 

Mr. and Mrs. Fred Tyler visited their son Dale at the Marshfield Hospital Saturday.  The lad is slowly recovering from his recent operation.

 

Mrs. H.E. Lawson and daughter Myrtle visited old friends at Marshfield Saturday.

 

Miss Helen Anding was home from Neillsville for an over Sunday visit with home folks.

 

Mrs. Conrad Jacobi is slowly recovering from her alarming illness of last week.

 

Mr. and Mrs. Atkin and son Laverne, who were visiting the Mike Dorst family here, returned home to Withee last Friday.

 

Two weeks ago today Mrs. A. Schuler of the town of York was made the pleased victim of a delightful birthday surprise party.

 

August Hammler transacted business at the county seat on Monday.

 

W.J. Davis transacted business at Neillsville Monday.

 

Ben Beeckler is home from Canada since last week Tuesday.

 

Miss Elsie Breseman was home from Neillsville over Sunday.

 

Mrs. Augusta Riemer and children came home Tuesday from a several weeks pleasure trip and visit with relatives at Beloit.

 

Mr. and Mrs. Anton Laskowski went to Grand Rapids Saturday that they might consult an oculist and secure glasses such as would be beneficial to Mrs. Laskowski’s eyesight.

 

Mr. and Mrs. Will Shafer went to Whitehall Tuesday to remain until after the holidays, guests of her folks.

 

Dr. Matheson of Neillsville was called here late last week for consultation in regard to little Charlotte Davis.

 

Carl Mundt of Chili transacted business here Tuesday morning and continued on to the county seat on the noon train.

 

Miss Bertha Hillert, Mrs. Ross Paulson, S.R. and Albert Davis were Neillsville visitors Tuesday.

 

Al Nonhof and son Glen went to Baldwin Tuesday to visit relatives and particular see Grandpa Nonhof, who is reported as being quite under the weather of late.

 

Mrs. Fred Schoengarth enjoyed a birthday surprise party last Saturday.  All report a very enjoyable affair.

 

Mr. and Mrs. T.A. Mellen, after a 3 week visit at Delbert Latamore’s, went home to Yuba Saturday.

 

Ross Paulson left for the West on another horse buying trip last Friday.

 

Geo. H. Welton of Marshfield transacted business here last Friday and was a guest in the John Hiles home.

 

Mr. and Mrs. Geo. Sheppard of Colorado purchased the John Hiles farm late last week and took immediate possession.

 

Mrs. Geo. Spry and daughter Opal of Yuba, after a 2 week visit at Delbert Latamore’s, went home on Saturday.

 

Chris and Albert Paulson, who came up from Chicago Saturday morning, stopped off here and autoed home to Nasonville with Mr. and Mrs. Dan Rausch that day.

 

Mrs. Arthur Phipps is alarmingly ill since Wednesday.  Her daughter Rhoda has been summoned from Plymouth.

 

Mr. and Mrs. Arthur Lammers and son Aaron went home to Sheboygan County on Monday.

 

Miss Sophie Brieske, Henry Brieske and Miss Louise Leonard of Elkhart Lake visited Mr. and Mrs. Conrad Jacobi here early this week.

 

Mrs. Grobe, who has been visiting at Rev. Reiff’s went home to Wausau on Monday.

 

Richard and Arthur Hillert went to Plymouth Tuesday.  They will visit at Milwaukee and various state points and probably be absent several weeks.

 

Geo. Hollenbach of the town of Lynn went to Almond Friday to attend the funeral of his mother Mrs. Susie Hollebach.  Her returned home early this week.

 

Stuart Schuler, the 7-year-old son of Mr. and Mrs. A.B. Schuler of York, entertained a goodly company of little friends last Sunday at a surprise party in honor of his birthday.

 

Will Vaness of Sheboygan, who was enroute home from Aberdeen S.D., stopped off her last week and visited in the Mile Dorst home.

 

Mrs. W.A. Campman, Mrs. L.H. Howard and their mother, Mrs. Al Holmes, autoed over from Neillsville last Friday for a few hours visit among relatives.

 

Miss Celia Clouse, with Mrs. W. Newell and children of Spokeville, too the train here Friday for Hixton where they visited relatives until Monday.

 

Mrs. Lindenthaler of Fall Creek, who spent last week here with Mr. and Mrs. Ben Joern, returned home on Saturday.

 

Mrs. Cole and mother Mrs. Silas Delano of Humbird came over on Monday for a visit at Fred Hart’s.

 

Mr. and Mrs. Fred Hart and Mr. and Mrs. Geo. Hart autoed over and spent Sunday with the Chas. Chapel family at Marshfield.

 

Mrs. J.M. Tompkins and Mrs. Rice Davis spent Tuesday morning with friends at Neillsville.

 

J.H. Fields of Sherwood took the train Tuesday for Park Falls on business bent.

 

Miss Emma Retzlaff of Nasonville spent the first part of the week here, the guest of Miss Effie Alt.

 

Mrs. Ralph Mayhew came home last Saturday from a visit at Plymouth and Campbellsport.

 

Fred Tyler went to Marshfield Wednesday and brought his son Dale home from the hospital there.  Dale is getting well and will resume his school work after the holidays.

 

The Misses Gertrude and Inez Holmes will come home from Hawthorne the first of the week.  Miss Inez is to remain here.  Miss Gertrude, though, will resume her school work there again early in the New Year.

 

W.R. Blockridge of Marshfield was in town Monday and close a deal whereby he purchased 80 acres of land near Chili of Mrs. Nick Hubing.

 

Doc Abbott a veterinary from Marshfield was here on Monday and killed a tubercular cow for Henry Williams, a high priced animal which was shipped here from New York last June.

 

Mrs. Albert Viergutz and son Reinhold were called to the Goldhammer home west of Neillsville on Monday by the news of the drowning of Ernest Goldhammer in Minnesota.  Mrs. Viergutz and the unfortunate Ernest’s mother and sister.  No particulars have been received here as yet, further than that the  young man’s body was to be brought to Neillsville for interment.
