Joyce, Beverly Jean (Marriage –10 July 1965)

Nuptial vows were exchanged in a double ring ceremony Saturday in St. Mary’s Catholic Church in Neillsville uniting in marriage Miss Beverly Jean Joyce, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Wilbur Joyce of Rt. 1 Neillsville, and Richard J. Schmidt, son of Mr. and Mrs. Joseph Schmidt, of Rt. 1 Neillsville. The Rev. Bernard Kelly officiated.

Altar bouquets of white gladioli and white and blue carnations banked the altar. Mr. Joyce gave his daughter in marriage.

For her wedding, the bride chose a floor length gown styled with a lace bodice and long, tapered sleeves. The full bouffant skirt was fashioned of bridal satin and lace scallops.  A bouffant veil was attached to a crown of pearls and crystals. She carried a bouquet of white carnations and stephanotis, accented with greens, centered with a white orchid.

Mrs. Alvin Lezotte of Neillsville was her matron-of-honor. Bridesmaids were Miss Mary Schmidt, Miss Bonnie Lavene and Miss Arlene Schmidt, all of Neillsville.  The attendants wore floor length gowns of blue peau de soie styled with scoop necklines and bell skirts.  They carried bouquets of yellow carnations accented with greens.

The groom’s attendants were Alvin Lezotte, bestman, Gordy Smith, Tom Poziombke and Milton Mueller, as groomsmen; and Jack Schmidt and Douglas Lezotte as ushers.

A dinner, reception and dance were held in the American Legion Hall in Neillsville.

Mr. and Mrs. Schmidt will reside in Marshfield, where both work, on their return from a wedding trip into northern Wisconsin.
