Larsen, Marie (24 NOV 1875 - 13 OCT 1963)

 

At 9:00 o’clock yesterday morning, Wednesday, Oct. 16, funeral services for Mrs. Charles Larsen were held at the Holy Rosary Catholic Church, Owen.  Father H.L. Crubel read the final rites and burial was made at Riverside Cemetery.

 

Fred and William Warns, Minus Munson, Ignatz Nowak, Arthur Smasal and H.B. Mauel Sr. were the pallbearers.

 

Mrs. Larsen had attained the age of 87 years, 10 months and 19 days when she succumbed to the complications of old age.  She passed away Oct. 13, 1963 at St. Joseph’s Hospital in Marshfield.

 

The former Marie Helz was born Nov. 24, 1875, at Hubertus, and received her education at the Teachers College in Milwaukee.  She taught school for many years in Milwaukee, before coming to Withee (Clark Co., Wis.), where she taught at the high school and at which time she was organist at the Catholic Church at Withee.  Her marriage to John Larsen, who preceded her in death Jan. 4, 1948, took place Sept. 8, 1917, at Abbotsford.  For the past five years she had resided at the Woodland Hotel.

 

She is survived by a nephew, Mr. Burg of Athens.
