Carol Christine Kangas, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. William C. Kangas of Owen (Clark Co., Wis.) became the bride of Lawrence R. Slobodnik of Withee on Friday, Oct. 11, 1963, at 2:00 o’clock in the afternoon at a ceremony performed in Neillsville.  The bride chose for her wedding a two piece light blue suit accented by light brown accessories.  She wore a corsage of red roses and white feathered carnations.


Attending as maid of honor was Diane Burhop, who wore a two-piece red suit with beige accessories.  Yellow pompoms with white feathered carnations were featured in her corsage.


The groom’s attendant was Robert Prock, a friend of the groom’s.  Both the groom and his attendant wore dark suits.


A reception was held on Sunday, Oct 20th at the home of the bride’s parents, from 2:00 o’clock in the afternoon until 10:00 o’clock in the evening.


Relatives and guests from out of town came from Chicago, Medford, Minneapolis, Greenwood, as well as Owen and Withee.


The bride is a graduate of the Owen-Withee Senior High School and was formerly employed at Minneapolis at the Minneapolis Auto Club.


The groom is a graduate of the Owen-Withee Senior High School and is presently employed at the Phillips 66 in Withee.


The newlyweds will reside in their home in Withee.
