Strohkirch, Jane E. #2 (12 OCT 1963)

The altar of St. John’s Lutheran Church at Withee was bedecked with bronze gladioli and gold chrysanthemums for the wedding of Miss Jane E. Strohkirch, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Clarence Strohkirch, and Otto L. Becker, son of Mr. and Mrs. Otto A. Becker, all of Owen (Clark Co., Wis.).

The Becker-Strohkirch wedding took place at 7:00 p.m. Saturday, Oct. 12, 1963, the Rev. Leroy Urman officiating.  Mr. Strohkirch presented his daughter in marriage during the rites for which Mrs. Herman Rabska played and Mrs. Dorothy Klabon sang "Wedding Prayer."

The bride wore a teal blue suit with beige accessories and carried a Bible topped with a white orchid surrounded by gold Pompons.

Miss Carol Wagner, Eau Claire, the maid of honor, was attired in a beige suit accented with brown accessories.  She carried a colonial bouquet of bronze and gold chrysanthemums.  Williams Robersen of Milwaukee was the best man.  Ushers were John Strohkirch, Owen, and James Robersen, Milwaukee.

The wedding reception and dance were held at the American Legion Hall at Owen.

The bride, who was graduated in 1961 from Owen-Withee High School, attended St. Joseph’s Hospital School of Nursing in Marshfield for two years.  Her husband, a 1954 graduate of Owen High School, is a telegraph operator for the Soo Line Railroad.

Following a northern Wisconsin honeymoon, the Beckers will live in Owen.
