FARMER IS KILLED BY LIGHTNING ON MONDAY

Arthur Schuette, 51, a well known town of Beaver farmer, was killed by lightning Monday afternoon at about 3 p.m. while planting corn on his 120 acre farm six miles west of Unity.  The storm which came up quickly, was but of local origin and but little rain fell.  One of the mules which Schuette was driving was also killed, which was noticed at once by his wife, who went down into the field to investigate.  Mr. Schuette was still sitting upon his driving seat but dead, his life having gone instantly.  The Schuette family is numbered among the pioneers of that locality, having resided there upward of thirty years.  He was the son of Mr. and Mrs. August Schuette, who came to the town of Unity from Manitowoc county many years ago.  He married Martha Hardrath, daughter of Herman Hardrath of the town of Green Grove some 25 years ago.  They have no children.  Besides his wife he leaves four brothers, Walter, Albert and Lester of Beaver and Unity; George of Genoa City, and two sisters, Mrs. Olivia Klinker of Manitowoc and Mrs. Arnold Witt of Gilman.  The funeral was held Thursday afternoon.
