Kinas, Frank (29 SEP 1908 - 27 APR 1960)

 

Frank Kinas, 51, owner and operator of Kinas Bar in Thorp city, passed away at St. Joseph’s Hospital at 9:00 o’clock on Wednesday, April 27, 1960.  He had been ill for the past year and in and out of the hospital several times.  He fought a losing battle in his last sickness against a lung ailment and weakening heart.

 

Funeral services will be held at St. Mary’s Catholic Church at Lublin at 10:00 o’clock on Saturday morning, April 30th.  The rosary will be recited at the Thorp Funeral Home at 8:00 o’clock Friday evening.  A complete obituary will be published next week.

Kinas, Frank (29 SEP 1908 - 27 APR 1960)

 

Frank Kinas, 51, passed away Wednesday, April 27, 1960 at St. Joseph’s Hospital, Marshfield of a heart ailment.

 

Funeral services were held Saturday, April 30th at ten a.m. at St. Mary’s Catholic Church, Lublin.  Rev. Wachna and Rev. Meus officiated with burial in St. Mary’s Catholic Cemetery.  Pallbearers were Frank Wnek, Pete Salvach, Joe Czech, Julius Kondrasuk, Joe Pabich and Casey Kubiszewski.

 

Mr. Kinas was born in Poland, Sept. 29, 1908.  He came to America with his parents, Frank and Antoinette Kinas, deceased, at the age of 3 to a farm near Lublin.  He married the former Pearl Kaczmarek there on Aug. 14, 1929, in St. Mary’s Church, and after their marriage they operated a farm near Medford.

 

He also operated a tavern and store in Lublin; operated Club 73 near Thorp; built and operated a theatre at Gilman; owned and operated the Thorp theatre and owned and operated Kina Tavern here the past three years.

 

Surviving are his wife, three daughters, Mrs. Jack (Marcelle) McIlraith, Brownwood, Texas; Mrs. Alan (Patricia) Braun, Minneapolis; Mrs. Herbert (Virginia) Matzinger, Thorp; four grandchildren; one sister, Mrs. Helen Kushman, Gary, Ind.; and three brothers, John Kinas, Orlando, Fla.; Benjamin Kinas, Phillips; and Joseph Kinas, Loma Linda, Calif.

 

He was preceded in death by two grandchildren in 1957 and by a brother, Stanley, in 1946.
