Osgood, Charles Martin (9 March 1855 - 30 November 1911)

Charles Martin Osgood died at his home in Rozellville, Wis., Nov. 30, 1911 at 11:30 p.m.  He was born in Morris, Grundy County, Ill. March 9, 1855. He came west with his parents, Mr. and Mrs. Emroy Osgood, to Mapleworks, Clark Co., Wis., in 1874.  He was married in 1877 to Miss Roancy Huntley. Four children were born to them, Almeda, Ralph, Rosa, and Emroy, all of whom with his wife have preceded him in death. The early days of his life were spent in Clark County.  After his wife’s death he moved to Marathon County, Wis., residing there about a year.  From there he went to Rosedale, Wash.  He remarried in 1904.  To them was born one daughter, Jennie.  They lived there until 1910 when they moved to Rozellville, Wis.  He always enjoyed good health until about a year ago he began to decline.  During this time he was confined to the house most of the time and during the last few months to his bed.  Last Thursday morning he grew gradually worse, scarcely regaining consciousness until his death, medical aid being of no avail.

The deceased leaves to mourn his death, his widow and one child, his mother, Mrs. Almeda Osgood, and one brother, Eugene Osgood. The funeral took place Sunday at 2 p.m. in the Adventist Church, James Scoles of York officiating. Interment was made in the Windfall Cemetery.  The pallbearers were: Henry Pietenpol, Free Converse, Noble Downer, Walter Graves, John Breese and Langdon Nichols.
