Lindau, Albert/Amanda (Gold - 16 DEC 1964)

Mr. and Mrs. Albert Lindau of Dorchester (Clark Co., Wis.) were the honored guests at an early celebration of their golden wedding anniversary Saturday evening at Sportsman’s Park, Colby.

Between 350 and 400 guests came for the festivities which included a social hour from 8 to 9, followed by dancing with music provided by the children, relatives and friends of the honored couple.

Special entertainment featured musical and novelty numbers by two grandsons, John and Steven Goldamer, and two songs by Mrs. James Daellenbach, wife of a grandson, all of Abbotsford.

Friends staged a mock wedding with the following principles: Bob Uhlig of Abbotsford, bride; Mrs. Dan Abel of Park Falls, groom; Mrs. Emil Uhlig of Curtiss, matron of honor; Miss Vangie Hartl of Onalaska, bridesmaid; Mrs. Harvey Kademan of Curtiss, best man; Mrs. Al Uhlig, Abbotsford, groomsman; Mrs. Adrian Strom of Abbotsford, trainbearer, and Allen Uhlig, Abbotsford, ring bearer. Mrs. Marvin Seefluth of Abbotsford was the father of the bride, and Harvey Kademan of Curtiss was the officiant at the ceremony.

A buffet lunch was served at 11 o’clock from a table centered with a decorated wedding cake and golden anniversary appointments given by the children and grandchildren.

On the occasion the honored couple was presented with a corsage and boutonniere of yellow roses with bronze and yellow pompons. They also received many other gifts and gifts of money.

Mr. and Mrs. Lindau were both born in the Dorchester area and lived there all of their lives. Moecker. They are the parents of three daughters and four sons. One daughter died at the age of eight years.

Mr. and Mrs. Lindau, who farmed until their retirement in the fall of 1963, both enjoy fair health and their hobbies, which include quilt making and baking for Mrs. Lindau, and music which they both share.

They are members of St. Peter’s Lutheran congregation, Dorchester.
