Neillsville Locals (3 August 1967)

Mr. and Mrs. Fred Haut of Alton, Ill., are house guests of her brother, J. J. Wavrunek. On arrival of their furniture from Alton, Mr. and Mrs. Haut will reside in the Paul Jacob house on Hewett Street.

Mr. and Mrs. Gordon Zank of Pasco, Wash., arrived on Monday to spend two weeks visiting her sister, Mrs. J. J. Wavrunek, and family, her mother, Mrs. Georgia Collins and son in Thorp, and a sister, Mrs. Joseph Cesafsky, in Eau Claire. A family reunion is planned for Sunday.

Weekend guests of Mr. and Mrs. Leonard Wachholz were Mr. and Mrs. Bill Neuhaus and Miss Elaine Wachholz of St. Paul, Minn. Mrs. Neuhaus and Elaine returned there Sunday evening. Mr. Neuhaus left for Madison Sunday to attend several days of school.

The Rev. and Mrs. W. C. Koehler and two sons returned home last Thursday from a three-week trip to Arkansas. Enroute home they visited friends in Cincinnati, O.

Dr. and Mrs. Carroll N. Schield and family returned home Monday evening from a week’s vacation trip to Denver, Colo., where they were guests of their son-in-law and daughter, Mr. and Mrs. Jay Worth.

Dick Zank is spending a few days in Neillsville with his parents Mr. and Mrs. Edward Zank. Dick is a pitcher for the Pawtucket, R. I. AA farm property of the Cleveland Indians.

Weekend guests of Mrs. Elsie Scherer were Mr. and Mrs. Charles Scherer and family of Milwaukee. Also spending a few days with her mother was Mrs. Jerry Malone, Mike and Sharon, of Milwaukee, and Joe Pinegar. Sharon and Mr. Pinegar are employed at Walter Reed Hospital in Bethesda, Md.

Mr. and Mrs. Robert Deirauer and children of Minneapolis, Minn., were weekend guests of her parents, Mr. and Mrs. Archie “Red” Van Gorden at their summer cottage on Lake Arbutus.

Mrs. Rose Svirnoff of Minneapolis, Minn., and formerly of Neillsville, visited Saturday with Mrs. M. E. Bennett. She was enroute home after visiting a relative in Marshfield.

Mr. and Mrs. Dawayne Howard and son, Kevin, of Houston, Tex., are spending two weeks’ vacation with his parents, Mr. and Mrs. Hugh Howard, and son.

Mrs. Marie Fitzharms and daughter of Rolling Meadows, Ill., made a surprise visit one day last week at the home of her cousin, Mrs. Gerald Hart, and family. This was the first time since 1923 that she had visited in Neillsville.
