MARTHA CLEMENT ROWE

Mrs. Martha Clement Rowe, wife of J. J. Rowe, Sr., died at her home at York Center, Clark County, Tuesday, Dec. 23, 1890, aged 68 years and 7 months.

The deceased was born in New Jersey, and was married at Salem, N.J., April 29, 1845, to the husband who survives her. She, with her husband, came to Sheboygan County in April 1856, and moved to York Center, her late home, some six years ago. She was in her usual fair health up to within a week of her death. Her husband and whole family, consisting of six sons and two daughters were with her during her sickness, and lovingly but sorrowfully laid to her final rest the good wife and mother. The funeral took place at York Center on Christmas morning at 10 o'clock, Rev. Connors officiating.

Mrs. Rowe was a true Christian, a devoted wife and mother, esteemed by all her acquaintances. She was prepared and willing to lay aside the troubles of this world and pass into the great mystery. At the time she was taken sick she was preparing to go to her old home in Sheboygan County to visit relatives and friends, but the fell destroyer summoned her to the long journey into the great unknown.
