OBITUARY OF MRS. JOS. BRAUNEIS (1868-1927)

Mrs. Bertha Brauneis was born in Germany April 14, 1868, and died at her home in Greenwood, Clark County, Tuesday, Feb. 1, 1927.

Orphaned in early childhood, she was adopted by a family by the name of Meyer. At the age of nine she, with this family, immigrated to the United States, settling in Chicago. After a few years, she made her home with Mr. and Mrs. Jacob Bleuhmel, by which name she was known up to the time of her marriage.

On the 7th day of Oct. 1893 she was united in holy wedlock with Mr. Joseph Brauneis. The union was blessed with four children, a little son who died in early infancy and the three children now living.

In 1915 the family moved from Chicago to Greenwood and soon after became members of Trinity Lutheran Church. The departed was a faithful Christian and a zealous member of the Ladies Aid. She was also a very kind and loving wife, mother and friend.

She is survived by her husband, sons Arthur and Joe, daughter Elsie and a daughter-in-law, Hazel.

Funeral services were held from the home at 9:30 A.M. last Thursday, Rev. Heilman officiating. The body was taken to Chicago, where funeral services were held Saturday afternoon at 2:30 and the body was laid to rest in Montrose Cemetery.

Her many friends remembered her with beautiful floral offerings.
