SERVICES AT ST. MARY'S FOR ARNOLD (ARLEIGH) SYTH


Services for Arnold (Arleigh) Syth, 75, Greenwood, Clark County, were conducted at St. Mary's Catholic Church, Greenwood on Wednesday, May 5.


Mr. Syth died at St. Joseph's Hospital, Marshfield at 10:30 p.m. on Sunday, May 2, 1976.


Rev. Father Robert Houston conducted the mass, with burial in the Greenwood Cemetery.


Mr. Syth was born on Nov. 9, 1900, at Greenwood. He attended Eaton Center School. He was married to Ruby Eisentrant in 1925, at Neillsville. They farmed in the Town of Eaton from 1927 until 1942. He had a garage for a time and also worked for the Town of Eaton, doing road repair. He retired in 1970. He was a member of St. Mary's Catholic Church.


Preceding him in death were his parents Robert and Emma Syth and one daughter in infancy.


Surviving him are 2 daughters, Mrs. Earl (Shirley) Caliebe, Greenwood and Mrs. Ralph (Mary) Kebl, Marshfield One son, George Syth, Eau Claire one brother, John Syth, Greenwood 2 sisters, Mrs. Lawrence (Beulah) Cox, Greenwood and Mrs. Simon (Rugene) Wehrman, Greenwood 6 grandchildren and 3 great-grandchildren.


Rinka Funeral Home, Greenwood, was in charge of arrangements. Pallbearers were Lewis Kebl, Clarence Verhulst, Jim Caliebe, Lloyd Peterson, Hugh Christie and Art Bushman.

Syth, Arnold (Arleigh) (9 November 1900 – 2 May 1976)

Arnold (Arleigh) Syth, 75, Greenwood died May 2, at St. Joseph’s Hospital, Marshfield, where he was admitted on April 25.

Mr. Syth was born November 9, 1900, in Greenwood. In 1925 he married the former Ruby Eisentraut at Neillsville. He received his education at the Eaton Center School and farmed in the Town of Eaton from 1927 to 1942. He then operated a garage in Greenwood and for many years worked maintaining the county roads in the Town of Eaton, retiring in 1970.

He was a member of St. Mary’s Catholic Church.

Survivors include, two daughters, Mrs. Earl (Shirley) Caliebe of Greenwood and Mrs. Ralph Kebl of Mar4shfield; a son, George, of Eau Claire; a brother, John, of Greenwood; two sisters, Mrs. Lawrence (Beulah) Cox and Mrs. Simon (Rugene) Wehrman, both of Greenwood; six grandchildren and three great-grandchildren.

Funeral services were held May 5 from St. Mary’s Catholic Church in Greenwood. Burial was made in the Greenwood Cemetery. The Rev. Augustine Svete of Willard officiated.

Pallbearers were Louis Kebl, Clarence Verhulst, James Caliebe, Lloyd Peterson, Hugh Christie and
Arthur Bushman.
