N. Arnold (Arnie) Johnson, 67, Greenwood, died at his residence Tuesday, Jan, 22, 1991. Funeral Services were held Friday, Jan 25, 1991, at 11 a.m. at Gesche Funeral Home, Inc., Neillsville. Rev. Ron Stelzieni officiated and burial was in the town of Weston Cemetery, Christie.


Pallbearers were Andrew Johnson, Steven Johnson, Greg Steltenpohl, Peter Johnson, Mathew Johnson, and Jason Steltenpohl.


N. Arnold Johnson was born Feb. 10, 1923 in the town of Worden. He married Gertrude I. Murphy Feb. 28, 1945 in Stanley. She survives. He farmed on the family farm until he entered the service in 1945. Upon returning home, he farmed in the town of Weston. He began working in Stewart's Cheese Factory in 1960 and worked there for 13 years. He then went to Nelson Muffler from which he retired in 1985. He was a member of Christie United Methodist Church and Greenwood American Legion.


Survivors include his wife three sons, LeRoy A Johnson, Neillsville Gary A. Johnson, Neillsville and Charles F. Johnson, Greenwood Three daughters, Mrs. Jerry (Diane) Steltenpohl, Gwinn, Mich.; Mrs. Rich (Marcia) Ziegler, Viroqua and Mrs. Kim (Kathryn) Miller, Waverly, Iowa one sister, Mrs. Harold (Dorthea Mae) Baumgarten, Thorp two brothers, W. Donald Johnson, Fontana and F. Everett Johnson, Thorp and 18 grandchildren.


He is preceded in death by his parents, four brothers, three sisters, and two grandsons.


Gesche Funeral Home, Inc., handled the arrangements.
