Kari Morken was born in Ringbo, Guldbrnadsdalen, Norway, Dec. 3, 1841, and passed away at her home northeast of the city last Thursday morning, Oct. 31, 1929.


The was united in marriage to Morton Johnson and came to America in 1885, coming directly to Greenwood, Clark County, and had lived in this vicinity ever since.


Mrs. Johnson was a devoted wife and mother and kind neighbor, humbly and conscientiously performing life's duties.


For the past five years he has been blind and almost helpless. She was a patient sufferer and found her only comfort in remembering the teachings of the Lutheran faith in which she was brought up.


She is survived by her husband, two daughters, Mrs. Bertha Johnson, Landa, N.D. and Mrs. Ernest Vine, Elk River, Idaho, and two sons, Simon of Three Forks, Mont. and Chris at home, also seventeen grandchildren and twenty great-grandchildren, besides other relatives and a host of friends.


Funeral services were held at Trondhjem church, Rev. Aaberg and Rev. Dyre officiating, and the remains laid to rest in Greenwood Cemetery.
