RAYMOND KOT (1931 - 2000)


Raymond J. KOT, 69, of Burnsville, MN, passed away at Fairview Ridges Hospital in Burnsville.


He was born January 8, 1931, in Chicago, IL, to Walter and Julia KOT. He graduated from Stanley High School.


He served six years in the US Air Force from 1948 to 1954 during the Korean War.


He married Margaret (Peggy) Ann HULS on September 4, 1954, at St. Ann's Catholic Church in Stanley. The couple spent their 45 years of marriage living in St. Paul, MN, San Diego, CA, and, for the last 32 years, Burnsville.


After his Air Force service, he studied at the University of Wisconsin and graduated in 1958 at Madison with a BS in electrical engineering. He started his career with Remington Rand Corporation in St. Paul and retired from UNYSIS after 29 years of service. He worked largely on Navy programs and projects.


He was a member of the Burnsville Knights of Columbus.


He is survived by his wife, Peggy four sons, Randal (Renee) of Bloomington, IN, Jeffrey (Dawn) of Fairmont, MN, Richard (Debe) of Apple Valley, MN, and Gregory (Mary Jane) of Lakeville, MN three daughters, Michele (John) BUTTWEILER of St. Cloud, MN, Julie (John) FRANCIS of Jordan, MN, and Patricia (Andrew) KROLL of Burnsville grandchildren, Bradley, Ryan, Sean, Amanda, Samantha, Lucas, Nicole, Jacob, Kelsey, Robby, Brittney, Sam, Forrest, Jamee, Michael, Jessica, and Emmalee and three nieces, Tammy NOTHNAGEL of Coon Rapids, MN, Lory PIETROWSKI of Maple Grove, MN, and Charlotte FOURNIER of Andover, MA.
He is preceded in death by his parents and a brother and sister, Richard KOT and Mary Ann THEIRL.


Mass of Christian Burial was held Tuesday, February 1, at Mary Mother of the Church Catholic Church in Burnsville. Interment followed the Mass at Fort Snelling National Cemetery.


In lieu of flowers, memorials are preferred.


Burnsville Funeral Home was in charge of the arrangements.
