Llewellyn F. Loucks (1942 - 1999)

Llewellyn F. "Welly" Loucks, 56, Town of Chelsea, died on Wednesday, Sept. 8 in Stuart, Iowa, where he was driving truck at the time of his death. A memorial service was held on Monday, Sept. 20 at Hemer Funeral Home in Medford, with Rev. Robert Everhard officiating.


Llewellyn Loucks was born September 27, 1942 at Abbotsford, Clark County, WI to the late Lemuel and Rosalie (Merwin) Loucks. He attended Abbotsford elementary schools and graduated from Abbotsford High School. His marriage to Joyce Olsen took place in 1959 at Abbotsford. They were later divorced.


After his education, he moved to Wyoming and worked as a range hand for a period of time. He returned to the area and farmed in the Colby area until 1976. He then worked as a commercial truck driver for Weather Shield, Hurd Millwork of Merrill, and most recently Storch's Trucking Service of Dorchester. His hobbies included hunting, traveling and flying an airplane. He was a member of the National Rifle Association.


Survivors include seven sons, Rod (Sandy) of New Berlin, Jim (Young's k) of Tacoma, Wash., Tim (Susan) of Spooner, Mike of Merrill, Patrick (Shannon) of Madison, Kenny "Rooster" of Medford, and Doug of La Crosse one brother, Charles (Betty) of Abbotsford one sister, Dorothy (Carl) Nelsen of Seattle, Wash. and seven grandchildren.


He was also preceded in death by two sons, John in 1969 and Dan in 1971 one brother, John and one sister, Diane.
