Rev. Fred Shilts, 73, of Coos Bay, OR went to be with the Lord on January 27, 1999 at his home in Coos Bay, OR. He was born on May 1, 1925 at Thorp, WI, the son of Arthur and Lulu Shilts. Fred pastored churches in Stanley, Thorp, Medord, Cadott, Ladysmith, WI and Coors Bay, OR before retiring from the ministry in 1993.


Fred is survived by his wife Ruth Shilts of Coos Bay, OR five sons: Daniel of Neward, OH, Lonnie of Holcombe, WI, Arthur (Buzzy) of Magnolia, CA, Nathan of Arlington, WA, Jon of Cornell, WI three daugthers: Karlene Shilts of Coos Bay, OR, Cathy Schofield of Cornell, WI, Connie Bigelow of Seattle, WA 25 grandchildren, numerous nieces and nephews. He is preceded in death by his parents 1 son Fred Jeffery and 1 grandson Dustin.


Funeral services were held 10:00 a.m., Friday, January 29, 1999 at New Life Tabernacle in North Bend, OR. Funeral services also were held on Tuesday, February 2nd, 1:00 p.m. at Pentecostal Assembly in Eau Claire, WI with Pastor John Tanberg officiating. Rev. William Siscoe officiated at the committal service. Visitation was held Monday evening, February 1st at Plombon Funeral Home in Stanley, WI from 6:00 till 9:00 p.m. Spring burial will take place at Edson Union Cemetery in rural Boyd, WI. Grandsons will carry him to rest: Jason, Randy, Benjamin, Joshua Schofield, Shane Maki, Brandon Quenton and Nathan Shilts.
