OBITUARY OF CLARA SOPHIA ABEL


Mrs. John Abel
, was born in the Town of Warner, Clark County, March 12, 1881, the daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Henry Decker. She was baptized in early infancy and became a member of the Immanuel Reformed Church through the rite of confirmation on April 12, 1895. She was also a member of the Ladies aid.


On Nov. 7, 1903 she was married to John Abel. The young couple moved on a farm in the Town of Eaton which has always served as their home. One son, Albert, preceded her in death on July 7, 1934.


Mrs. Abel possessed a pleasing personality and was a loving mother.


Apparently enjoying good health, she passed away suddenly on Easter morning at 7 o'clock. The cause of her death was a stroke. She had reached the age of 57 years, 1 month and 5 days.


Survivors are her husband and 3 children, Gilbert and Hilda at home, Lena (Mrs. Norbert Kuester) Town of Warner. There are also 4 grandchildren, one sister, Mrs. Henry Franz, Town of Warner, 3 brothers, Louie, Peplin, Mont., Gustave, Snohomish, Wash. and Alfred, Coeur D'Alene, Idaho.


Funeral services were held Thursday afternoon, April 21, Rev. P. H. Franzmeier officiating. The senior choir sang Does Jesus Care and Kennt Ihr Das Land.


Pallbearers were Wm. Toburen, Wm. Miller, Wm. Schlinsog, Theo. Humke, Albert Miller, Henry Gemmeke. Flower girls were Gladys Kuester, Violet Kuester, Meta Franz, and Marcella Abel.


Out of town persons at the services included Mr. and Mrs. Walter Renard and daughter Leona, Mrs. Bernard Fischer, John Lechtman, Mrs. Nick Gaalhey, Mr. Edward Koch and daughters Ella and Pearl of West Bend, Wis., Mrs. Louie Domes of Kewaskum, Wis., Mrs. Art Benedum and son Norman, Mrs. Hans Kalpone, and Miss Arvilla Franz, of Milwaukee, Mr. and Mrs. Chas. Schneider, Mrs. Ernest Balts of Cadott, Wis. Mr. and Mrs. H. Schwarze, Mrs. And Mrs. H. Laube, Mr. and Mrs. D. Churkey, Mrs. Phil Laube of Owen Mr. and Mrs. Chas. Laube and daughter Lorraine and Janet of Withee, Wis. and Louie Meinholdt of Neillsville.
