CILLD KILLED IN AUTO ACCIDENT


Jane Christofferson
, 5, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Thorval Christofferson of Juneau, Wis., passed away at 5:15 a.m. Tuesday, Dec. 24, 1940 at Riverview Hospital, Wisconsin Rapids from a skull fracture suffered in an auto accident on highway 73, ten miles southeast of Wisconsin Rapids on Monday noon, Dec. 23.


Jane was riding with her mother, the former Margaret Schiller, and sister Mary, 7, in a car driven by her aunt, Miss Mildred Schiller, who teaches in Madison, when the car skidded on icy pavement and collided with an auto occupied by Mr. and Mrs. Richard Sigl, Leo Sigl and Henry Guenther of Marshfield.


Mrs. Christofferson, 39, suffered scalp wounds and a broken shoulder, Mrs. Sigl suffered minor cuts.


Mr. Christofferson, father of the child, was notified and brought his daughter Mary to Neillsville, Clark County, Miss Schiller remained with her sister at the hospital. T. F. Schiller of this city, uncle of the deceased, was notified and went after the body, which was taken to Neillsville, where services were conducted Thursday a.m. at 10:30 at St. Mary's Catholic Church, with burial in the Catholic Cemetery.


The Christofferson reside at Neillsville where Mr. Christofferson was head of the Clark County Mail Order Cow Testing Association.
