MRS. WILLIAM F. THEISEN, SR.


Funeral services for Mrs. William F. (Mae M) Theisen, Sr., 87, of 209 West Central, Loyal, Clark County, who died at 2:10 a.m., Wednesday, Sept. 7, 1977 at Sacred Heart Hospital, Eau Claire, were conducted at 10:30 a.m., Friday, Sept. 9 at St. Anthony's Catholic Church, Loyal, Interment was in the Parish Cemetery.


Officiating were the Rev. Jerome Theisen, OSB, of St. John's University, Collegeville, Minn., son of the deceased, as celebrant, and the Rev. Chester J. Osowski of St. Anthony's Catholic Church, Loyal, the Rev. Luke Steiner, OSB, the Rev. Meinrad Dindorf, OSB, the Rev. Julian Schmiesing, OSB, the Rev. Alberic Culhane, OSB and the Rev. James Reichert, OSB, co-celebrants. Also in attendance were a number of brothers of St. John's Abbey.


Mae M. Reif was born on Jan. 25, 1890 at Mills, Wis. to Anton and Rose Reif. She received her education at rural Mills schools.


On June 14, 1910 she was married to William Theisen at Mills.


They lived in Milwaukee for ten years and then moved to Loyal in 1920, where they have lived ever since. They celebrated their golden wedding anniversary in 1960.


She was a member of St. Anthony's Catholic Church, Loyal and its altar society.


A P.C.C.W. Rosary was held at 3 p.m. and a general rosary at 8:30 p.m. Thursday, Sept. 8.


She is survived by her husband, William, Sr. five sons, Leo of Orlando, Fla., William A. of Loyal, Rav of Eau Claire, Dr. Charles E. of South Milwaukee, and Father Jerome, OSB of Minnesota five daughters, Mrs. Jerry (Eleanore) Norton of Park Forest, Ill., Mrs. James (Florence) Ward of South Milwaukee, Mrs. Fritz (Mary) Helm of Milwaukee, Mrs. Jerome (Betty) Johnson of Eau Claire and Mrs. Home (Barbara) Betts of Kirtland, Ohio one brother, Otto Reif of Manitowoc 34 grandchildren and 13 great-grandchildren.


She was preceded in death by her parents, two brothers and three sisters.


Serving as pallbearers were her grandsons, John, Mark, Jim, Jerry and Philip Theisen and Paul Johnson, active, and Joe Theisen, Paul Theisen, Erick Helm and Bob Ward, honorary, also grandson. Rinka Funeral Home, Loyal was in charge of arrangements.
